Rego Mentem – by Telgar

Probably the most ancient Path in existence Rego Mentem dates back to the pagan times when the spirit world was much closer to the physical. This path deals with the summoning of the spirits of nature. Many ancient vampires have learned this path including most of the Laibon and Tzimisce Kolduns. The spirits called by this Path are under the command of the Thaumaturge until sun rise.

System: This Path has two powers. The first allows damage to be inflicted upon any spirit through ritual incantation. The player rolls path rating as damage and it is soaked with Willpower, rather then Stamina. The damaging effects of this Path take effect immediately upon completion of the incantation and take only a few words. Secondly, this Path allows the Thaumaturge to summon up spirits of nature to serve him. Rego Mentem rating determines the type of spirits that may be summoned. These abilities are cumulative. At level 4 you can still use levels 1-3.

1 - Minor Spirit - Attributes 4/3/2, Abilities 3/2/1, Disciplines 0
2 - Lesser Spirit - Attributes 5/4/3, Abilities 4/3/2, Discipline 2
3 - Minor Elemental - Attributes 6/5/4, Abilities 5/4/3 Disciplines 4
4 - Major Elemental - Attributes 7/6/5, Abilities 6/5/4, Disciplines 6
5 - Master Elemental - Attributes 9/8/7, Abilities 10/9/8, Disciplines 8 and serves only if it’s in its interests.

The number of successes gained determines how much control the Thaumaturge has over the spirits he summons.

1 Success: The spirit attends, but listens to the Thaumaturge only if it will benefit. It can leave at will.
2 Successes: The spirit arrives and listens. It will answer simple questions.
3 Successes: The spirit is well-disposed towards the caster, and answers questions with some accuracy.\\ 4 Successes:The spirit is willing to serve the caster on simple tasks.
5 Successes: The spirit is pleased with the summoning and serves the caster faithfully for the night.
Failure: The ritual is wasted and cannot be re-attempted that night.
Botch: The spirit is angered by the Thaumaturge’s clumsy attempts, and attacks.
