Corve leans on the door for a moment, and then moves to one of the couches, sitting down slowly and intercrossing his fingers. "So..."

Carmine slips onto the sofa next to him, pressing up to him though not quie as much as she was before. "I ... " she looks at him confused, still not sure how to describe this.

Corve raises a brow and scratches his shaved chin a little, feeling the smoothness a little odd, even after having it like this the last few days. "Whatever it is, you can tell me."

Carmine "Anum-Ihk knew who I was." she says, after some deliberation, an emphasis on the was.

Corve nods slightly. "I figured that much out on my own, love," he says. "...part of my job description- noticing things."

Carmine "But he wasn't expecting me here ... didn't have a message for me."

Corve tilts his head. "So... he didn't tell you who you are? Did he just... tell you he knew who you were and leave?"

Carmine shakes her head, looking more worried. "He ... told me I had a job to do, for Falling Blackness and for Scarlet Blossom. When I asked he said that I had to go through the shadowlands in Chiaroscuro, through the underworld to the Mesa of Midnight ... and ..." she pauses, somehow sure this is a bad thing despite her having no recollection of it "... complete the deal." she says, very softly

Corve doesn't say anything for a while, just sitting there and thinking about it carefully. Finally: "And he didn't give you anything more... specific? Did he even actually give you any sort of clue as to -you?-" He's not so much angry that his suspicions turned out to be at least allegedly correct, but that the god completely disregarded the importance of Carmine knowing who she truly was.

Carmine "He ... said that I'd given my name away ... as part of the deal. But ... that makes no sense ... I'm Glorious Carmine Elegance ... I knew that ... it was the first thing I remember..."

Corve sighs a little. "Did he say that was your actual name... or the one you gave it away for?" He doesn't want to ask the question, but it has to be asked.

Carmine "... I don't know. He ... didn't say."

Corve pauses and takes her hand, holding it gently. "Well... whoever you were- you... you've got a chance to be someone different- someone better now."

Carmine nods a little "He said there wasn't much time ... before the offer expired ... I don't know what will happen then."

Corve "Before what offer expired?"

Carmine "Whatever it was I gave up my name ... and maybe my memories for."

Corve sighs a little and leans over, kissing her softly. "Whatever it is, we'll figure it out... everything will be fine." He holds her hand tight. "Any mention how long 'no long' is?"

Carmine shakes her head

Corve nods a little. "Well, we'll figure it out. Just..." he pauses again. "Remember... whatever it was that you did or promised... you can keep being who you are now."

Carmine "I know. I want to. I won't let them take that away from me."

Corve nods. "That's all I wanted to hear, Carmine." He kisses her again. "And we'll figure out the rest only if you want."

Carmine leans on Corve and enjoys his closeness
