Flags

June, 2006
These are the flags I received from you before the last story.
James and Jeanie did not send me anything in writing, and my memory
is faulty, or those messages got lost in the email list transfers,
so please send them again or make up new ones as soon as possible.

  • Remember at the end of last story, it was suggested that the other 3 individuals inside the other dimension were of particular interest and everyone around the table agreed. Now, the course may lead the characters to do nothing, try to rescue them, etc. but the potential for "haunting" is much greater now that the players have been exposed. *cough* kind of wish that Jenny's insanity stemmed from one of these individuals actually :) *cough*
  • A Halloween Ball. I've always have wanted to be a part of one! No evil bad All Hallows Eve this year, no Devil's Night. Instead, a celebration of the city's triumph. Introduce a few new subplots involving all (or some) of the players, and perhaps reveal a few interesting tidbits about the history of ETB. Most important, nothing really BAD happens, at least not at the Ball... NO ELDERS!
  • What the hell has happened to the Primogen council and the meetings? Surely in 1 and 1/2 years of being out of it, someone, somewhere in Detroit should be looking for the missing JT, Aidan, or Jenny Olsen. Irving has been rumored to be around (and now may be breaking the masquerade) so why isn't JT cornered and questioned by every elder in the city? I would like to see more group-orientated (coterie?) development with the overall power structure of the city's elders/ancilla/neonates. Will the coterie come to the rescue for one individual?
  • We are after all a coterie with potential to be have some political power, either to ourselves or to be used by those with more political power than ourselves. I'm certain by now that some kindred know of us, though may not recognize how formal an arrangement we have, and it would be interesting to see how we are perceived/used/etc.
  • Neonates! More interaction with other kindred of our "power" and "social" level. These kindred could have problems that we could help with, and like all dealings we help them, they help us!
  • Jonathan Starr. Now, that is an interesting character. I find his motives and back story very interesting and he and Alicia... He's re-entered the story just now so maybe you were already going to develop on this, but I would like to see developed the nature of the agreement he has with Alicia. I'd like to see the tension or usefulness of this agreement developed a bit more.
  • Ventrue. I would like to see a revitalization of clan ventrue. Regular meetings, a hierarchy of control on local assets. Taking back what is "rightfully theirs"!
  • What is going on with Saturn and Casoli? This was never really developed in the game. It was very interesting that it appeared that the Prince was playing one against the other. Why wouldn't one of the two try to set up some type of alliance to overthrow the other (all the while the Prince has the appearance of helping both sides maybe?) The subplot was almost there but was pushed aside by 'bigger' 'interdimensional' dude of doom plot.
  • Clan Revenge. One of the city's Clans (or an individual clan member) is out to get one of the PC's, probably without the full clan's support or knowledge. Some one, or several of the PC's, start to uncover the plot, and either work for or against it, perhaps with out the targets knowledge... This does not mean Final Death, perhaps the villain just wishes to badly embarass one of the PC's in front of Kindred society... NOT AN ELDER!!!
  • The idea of playing the city's detectives/brute squad was also intriguing (we have enough players now...Sentinels revisited?) We definately have the power now to deal with minor grievances with our characters, so why not push some of that annoying back work to the characters? Do the characters need to show that they are capable (or to break a few more rules) before they are punished with more responsibility? 1 Blood work/forensics, 1 Crowd-control (human/animal), 1 Crowd-control (Kindred), 1+ 'spirit' readers, 1 Arcane/Historical-based, and at least one Brute makes one hell of a team.
  • Are we in the book? In what way? And worse, if we are in the book, what will it do to our reputations? Will our sires disown us, or be secretly proud that we've found a purpose? Will the harpies whisper about us? Will the prince deem us a threat or a tool? Will the coteries of the past revisit us and be reunited to our purpose, or has their purpose and past failures burnt them out? What has happened to the coteries of the past... are they still loyal to one another or have they had fallings out? Even if we don't personally learn the answer of whether we are in the book, what happens if someone else learns of it? What will the reaction be, and if no reaction... why? I'm less interested in the Masquerade issues with the book, than what it reveals of NPC's and PC's, politically.
  • A Political Dilemma. Something has developed politically that does not concern any of the PC's, but a group of younger Kindred approaches some one in our group to help them out with this political problem. The PC's might not be able to help out much directly, or maybe they can. All that is important is that most, if not all of the PC's are involved... Once again, do not involve Elders very much!
  • Jonathan Starr. The man, the myth, the legend.

To summarize:

  • Haunting
  • Halloween Ball
  • The Primogen Council and meetings
  • Political power
  • Neonates
  • Jonathan Starr
  • Ventrue
  • Saturn and Casoli
  • Clan revenge

That's 12 flags (13 with duplicates) so far to hang a Situation on.
Add any additions or clarifications at the bottom of this page.

  • Ok... being one who suggested Jonathan Starr, I would like to change that suggestion to Alicia Lee.
  • Clan Intrigue it would be nice to be included in our own clans' intrigues, or plans. For the most part each of us are at the very least mid ranked members of our clans. We really aren't neonate anylonger.
  • Superstiion' it would be kinda cool to deal more with the ghost story genre, we being powerful kindred are well suited to deal with the supernatural, and or mortal disturbances.
  • oops Who said a masquerade breach had to be pertitrated by a kindred. sometimes messes have to be cleaned up, sometimes it would be cool if it was someone elses mess. this could also be a spring board into political areanas and, works well with the other non-rulling members of detroit's kindred society. For example relatively insignificant neonate x comes to the party because he fucked up and is terrified that if we don't help him he will be destroyed and He heard we might be able to help him. sounds good. The politics and action are allready to begin. It could be there is a local mortal who is now aware of us and it is our job to fix the situation before he can compile enough evidence to go public with it or even worse to the government.
  • Clan Revenge sounds ok. If we do get involved in that, it would be nice if it were a clan that none of us are part of. The infighting thing is good with small stuff, but with big stuff it can get really messy. Unless of course there is someone out there who would get a kick out of playing out having to choose between their clan and their coterie. I'm not one of them.
  • New Arrivals With the big ball being prepared for now, and this being an international affair, bring in some new arrivals, imagrants from distance places who desire to be in Detroit. Some strange stuff, or just some stuffy European Kindred who do not like how Detriot "works". (Like Mathew Hansen, cept not as sucidal!)
