Detroit By Night

Clubland

Housed in the ornate and rennovated State Theater, Clubland
is known as one of Detroit's better dance clubs. The
movie seats were replaced by the 3,000 square-foot dance
floor, and the movie screen with 64 video screens and several
projection monitors. An in-house dance troupe and a
score of D Js? spin techno and pop beats for the fashion
conscious young crowd. A small cafe known as the Century
Club occupies the former lobby. By day, the expansive
video system is used for banquets and even the occasional
corporate training session.

This was known as the favorite hangout of Shari Mason
before her disappearance from the city in 1999.
