Solar Performance

Point Emphasizing Mystery Performance

Cost: -- (3m); Mins: Performance 5, Essence 3; Type: Permanent
  Keywords: Obvious
  Duration: One Scene
  Prerequisite Charms: Phantom-Conjuring Performance

This Charm enhances its prerequisite, enabling it to be activated and sustained for the duration without the use of an Excellency by spending 3 motes which are committed for the scene. Also, while active, the charm enables the use of Performance and Presence social attacks in short ticks, as long as they can be condensed into a short sentence at longest. These can even be flurried with other actions, such as an attack as long as appropriate. The rate is of the slowest action, while the speed is equal to that of the highest action.

''Example: Rook strikes an enemy guard, blowing him through a palace wall with the Heaven Thunder Hammer, then turns to the captain and makes a Presence attack, "RUN!". If successful, he could cause all the guards under that captain to run when their captain does due to social groups rules, or at least most, with those who resist being more (though far less) grain to be threshed.

Mirror Charms

  • Face The Light (Mins: Performance 3, Essence 2; Prerequisites: Respect Commanding Presence; Abyssals, p. 141) compels those around the Solar to stay and witness the divine ass-kicking that is about to take place, rather than flee his awe-inspiring presence.
  • Demon-Wracking Glory (Mins: Performance 5, Essence 3; Prerequisites: Phantom-Conjuring Performance; Abyssals, p. 141) increases the range of Phantom Conjuring Performance, and adds the Holy Keyword. The Solar can now inflict aggravated damage on creatures of darkness through Performance-based attacks.

Solar Charm Cascade Errata (Performance)

  • Respect Commanding Attitude (page 202). At Essence 3, anyone affected by this charm must spend 1 willpower to avoid hushing or otherwise opposing someone that attempts to interrupt the Solar's Performance. This compulsion will not rise to the level of a Join Battle roll (that would disturb the Solar's Performance), and all those involved will try to avoid causing much commotion.
  • Phantom-Conjuring Performance allows a Solar to choose the appearance of his iconic anima when it appears, as long as it is thematically appropriate.
  • Memory-Reweaving Discipline (page 202) creates a Temperance-based "Illusion" Intimacy, with a Strength of 2. Resisting this effect with Willpower allows the affected character to remember that the memory is false for a scene, and behave accordingly.
  • Husband-Seducing Demon Dance (page 203) creates either a Compassion-based "Emotion" Intimacy (if the character falls in love with the Solar), or a Conviction-based "Servitude" Intimacy (if she develops dedication to a Solar's cause), both Strength 2. The type of performance used must in some way match the type of intimacy given; dances and singing for Love, while rousing speeches and passionate poems for Dedication.
