Taishi has met a number of individuals both colorful and interesting in his travels. Once he saved a personal courier to one of the more powerful warlords of the island from death or capture at the hands of bandits. This courier, Ledaal Banion, considers himself in debt, even if to an Anathema. He has access to many of his lord's comminiques and knows most of the best cyphers and languages of the Forsaken Isle. Second, he had a tryst with the so called Witch of Kara'Sar, in the ruins of Juche. She was a bit angry with him for a time, suspecting that he had freed one of her demons who escaped. But he convinced her otherwise. While she is powerful, this lack of trust means she'll only go so far for Taishi.

Testing yourself against some of the bandits and "robber-nobility" gives you a chance to build up much credit and a little wealth. While not rich by any means, Taishi has gathered money enough to pay his way almost any place he might care go. Even so much as to have some saved away in the banks that remain.
