The Unnoticed Guest (Obfuscate 2)
A relatively simple power popular among many Vampires, this power allows the Vampire to fade from the awareness of those around him. While he does not actually disappear, his presence is less noticed and others are likely to overlook the errant Vampire. This power has it's limits, however, in that it doesn't keep those specifically searching for the Kindred from finding him. In addition, the way that the power functions presents a few problems. Primarily, since it at best just renders the Vampire "nobody special, do not pay attention to me", it has no effect in situations where any intruder would be suspect. It won't let the Vampire sneak past checkpoints or worm his way into an intimate conversation. Lastly, if the Vampire clashes too greatly with his surroundings, the power simply fails. In order to blend unnoticed into a white-collar event, the Vampire must be dressed appropriately (or at least as a waiter).

This ability is believed to have been in wider circulation in earlier nights. However, as cities grew more crowded with Kindred and the threat of the Predator's Taint grew greater, the ability to mask one's presence from the awareness of other Beasts became more prized and Mask of Tranquility eclipsed The Unnoticed Guest in terms of importance. Even so, more than a few Kindred learn this power in addition or instead of that ability.

Roll Results
Failure: On a failure, the character remains just as much a part of anyone's awareness as he might otherwise be. He doesn't stand out any more or less than he usually would. On a dramatic failure, however, the Kindred actually attracts attention!
Success: On a success, the character gradually fades from everyone's awareness. Nobody bothers him, casual acquintances fail to recognize him, and people more or less go about their buisness as if nobody important was present. They won't necessarily act the same as if they were alone, however, unless the character attains an exceptional success.

This power immediately fails if the character draws attention to himself, or interacts with those present. In addition, anyone who is specfically looking for the Vampire in question will be able to find him. Similarly, anyone with Auspex activated immediately see's through the ruse. Either of these people can but do not necessarily cancel the power -- if they draw too much attention to the Vampire, the power will fail as normal. Lastly, anyone who is paying attention to his surroundings can see through this power if he gets an exceptional success on a Wits + Composure roll.
