General Thaumaturgy Rules
Thaumaturgy & the No Moon Caste:
Every No Moon Lunar, regardless of Favored Abilities, can learn Thaumaturgy Degrees as if they had Occult as a Caste Ability. If the Lunar also has Occult as one of his Favored Abilities, he gains a further bonus, reducing the cost to learn a Degree to 6 experience points, or 3 bonus points. Finally, as an aspect of their Caste, the No Moons are the best practitioners of Thaumaturgy in Creation.
While the Anima of an Ogre is attuned to the Essence of the New Moon, a Lunar gains his +Essence in bonus dice to any Thaumaturgy roll. He may attempt any ritual belonging to any Degree he's mastered, or those rituals belonging to one degree higher than he actually possesses (at a -2 external penalty to the roll). The effects of emulating "Arch-Mastery", or the 4th Degree of Thaumaturgy, are up to the Storyteller but tend to work existing rituals to greater effect rather than allowing additional rituals unknown to lesser thaumaturges.
While many Lunar's embrace this gift, a few quietly resent it, claiming that it only encouraged the Twilight Caste of the First Age to relegate the Lunar's to the role of practicing thaumaturgy rather than trying to exceed their own limits via a study of Sorcery.
