Expanded Backgrounds

Backing (Crossroads Society) *
You've attained your Terrestrial Circle Sorcery, though the cost was great, and earned a place amongst this profoundly paranoid and secretive organization. Though you know you still have a long way to go to earn the Societies trust, you feel a compulsion to stay with it, knowing that much depends on you and your ability to see the the path before you clearly. So when the Society asks something of you, you give it your attention. Now and again, they return the favor.

Backing (Winding Path) **
You unknowingly fell into the Winding Path fairly soon after your Exaltation, though you didn't know it until much much later. The cunning masterminds of this faction have sharpened your senses and your winds, made your mind keener. You first learned that the faction existed in the first place, and that you were being apprenticed into their number. Then, you discovered what you thought was their philosophy. Finally, not long after your initiation into Sorcery, you truly understood the ways of the Thousand Stream River. You've since become more and more welcomed by the faction, particularly as you bring a fresh perspective that many of the more "civilized" members of the faction overlook.

Heart's Blood **
You've hunted more than a few animals, and humans, for their heart's blood. You've 4-10 "distinct forms", including a Peregrine Falcon, a Barracuda, a Giant Spider, and a Spotted Panther. In addition, you've the heart's blood of a tribal hero, a beautiful peasant girl and a Grayfalls Dragon-Blood.

Influence *
You were always a smart lad, good with the spirits. The old Shaman took you as his apprentice after it became obvious to your father that, despite your strength and heartiness, the spirits would not leave you be. You chafed at the life until your Exaltation, which allowed you to realize that your duty need not interfere with your life and that you could stride between as many worlds as you liked. Since then, you've become one of the greatest Shaman's of the East, and that reputation has followed you even into the strange lands you now find yourself in.

Manse ***
The Stones of Larianya, a Level 3 Wood Manse located deep within the territory of the Ten Tribes.

Mentor **
You didn't even realize that Shakri Ma, the Raven-Haired Harridan, was watching over you until almost a year after your Exaltation. You'd only seen her briefly during your initiation into the Silver Pact, when you were tattoo'd, and then as far as you could tell you were cut loose of all supervision. In fact, as your traveled the lands where you were born and neighboring kingdoms where you'd ne'er before set foot, she was there, watching and placing tests and puzzles in front of you to teach you the Silver Way, the philosophy of the Winding Road, and a thousand other things. You've since realized her presence, and even talk with her on occasion, but she still tends to operate at twice or three-times removed.

Reputation **
You are Uf-ya, the Honored, and others within the Silver Pact have heard of you.

Terrestrial Circle Initiation
Given possession of the Jasmine Gems for a time, and taught the arrangements that bring forth Mishiko, Forsath began his apprenticeship to Sorcery as many young No Moons do - by memorizing poems that the silver phantasm conjured up from the stones voiced on the wind, and following out the instructions that lay within. Thus did Forsath pass the various stages of Initiation, with Mishiko's gentle guidance. He engaged in menial labor for a woman as mean as she was old, he discovered the depravity of his tribe and the depths to which his people had sunk, and he even traveled to the utter edge of Creation itself.

There, on the Edge of Creation, Forsath arranged the Jasmine Gems in the pattern of Sacrifice and tried not to feel fear as Mishiko spoke. "You must be free. Honor must have no hold on you, if you are to do what you must." So it was that Forsath traveled back to his home, amongst the Bone Face tribe of the East where he was born, and slew his chieftain. His friend. His father. He cast down the totems of the deceiver Gods, and broke open the Slave Pens so the captives might flee, and he howled in rage and pain as his people hid from him.

Then, he left, knowing he could never return.
