Spellcasting Conditions

  • Steadfast Casting - Resolve this Condition to turn a failed spellcasting roll into a success. This does not function on a dramatic failure, though you may resolve it before rolling a Chance Die to roll a single regular die instead.
  • Inspired Imago - Resolve this Condition to achieve an exceptional casting success with three dice instead of five. You may not choose to gain a Condition in return for your exceptional success, though the other options are still valid
  • Stable Imago - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra that functions as a Dedicated Tool for the purposes of Paradox (Reducing Paradox by two dice)
  • Reckless Sorcery - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra that provides a +2 Bonus. Increase Paradox Dice for the spell by 1.
  • Fickle Imago - Resolve this Condition before rolling for spellcasting. A success on the roll is treated as an exceptional success. A failure is treated as a Dramatic Failure. If you achieve an exceptional success, you may not choose to gain a Condition as a result, though the other options are still valid.
  • Shadow Magic - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Death on a non-Death spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Weaver's Imago - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Fate on a non-Fate spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Brilliant Sorcery - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Forces on a non-Forces spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Primal Channel - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Life on a non-Life spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Fortified Magic - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Matter on a non-Matter spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Warlock's Right - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Mind on a non-Mind spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Supernal Sorcery - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Prime on a non-Prime spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Sympathetic Imago - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Space on a non-Space spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Animist's Aura - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Spirit on a non-Spirit spell that is semiotically compatible.
  • Eternal Magic - Resolve this Condition to use as a Yantra worth a bonus equal to your dots in Time on a non-Time spell that is semiotically compatible.

Semiotically Compatible: A thematic connection between the spell you're doing and the Arcana you want to add as a Yantra. It doesn't have to be something you can do with the Conditioned Arcana (though that's easiest) just something that's related conceptually. I.e., Shadow Magic with a Forces spell to shut down all the lights in an area, Brilliant Sorcery to help control a Fire Spirit with the Spirit Arcana, or Supernal Sorcery in a Mind spell that forces someone to tell the truth.

  • Place of Power - Resolve this Condition to double the bonus from all Place Yantras for the rest of the scene.
  • Ritualist's Art - Resolve this Condition to raise the cap on bonus gained from Ritual Magic from +5 to +10 for one spell cast. You must still spend the appropriate number of extra intervals casting to reach the new cap.
  • Mana Sacrament - Resolve this Condition and spend 1, 3, or 5 Mana to use it as a Sacrament. 1 Point of Mana is a +1 Sacrament, 3 Points is a +2 Sacrament, and 5 Points is a +3 Sacrament.
