< Keepers Of The Blue Book? | Buncha Cabals | Broken Mountain >

Arrayed around Golden Hill?, a potent Stygian Verge and one of the region's most enigmatic areas, the Seventh Sons date back to the founding of the local Assembly. Though largely more interested in the pursuit of the Mysteries than politics, Son's find themselves drawn into Free Council politics by simple proximity. The Assembly gathers right in the middle of the Son's territory, a fact that initially drew the Cabal into politics simply to safeguard their own territory concerns but which has ended up with the Son's being appointed as Minutemen and put in charge of Assembly security.

Members of the Cabal

  • Thessily (Free Council, Thrysus) has been the leader of the Son's since the turn of the century. Likely the member of her Cabal with the widest-ranging interests, Thessily remains one of the foremost experts on Sleep and the Dreamer in the region, though in more recent times her Obsessions have drifted toward matters of the soul. Specifically, most of her day-to-day activities involve tending to her Apprentices and managing the day-to-day operations of her Legacy. She's also become more political, wielding a great deal of influence locally and hailed within the Council as a Syndic.
    • The Master's Political Bloc is somewhat neutral with regard to the Consilium, if not in favor of reconciliation, but tends to vote somewhat eclectically according to their own Obsessions. Thessily can sometimes get them to support her various initiatives, hence her status as a Syndic, but that support usually involves supporting the rights of individual mages and Cabals rather than more proactive agendas.
      • Thessily is probably the most powerful Ecstatic mage in the Region, a Master of Life and Adept of Prime,-- she's well respected by local Diamond mages and has a number of contacts amongst the Nameless.
    • A member of a Legacy that formed in the American Southwest during the 60s, the Children Of Knowledge?, Thessily serves as the impromptu mentor for all the Children in the region.
      • One of the few members of the Legacy, locally, capable of easily producing high-quality unadulterated Gloss: Thessily wields a great deal of potential influence over other members of the Legacy through supply/demand.
      • Thessily has progressed up to the Legacies Third Attainment, but maintains contact with more-Enlightened members of the Legacy as far away as El Paso and LA.
    • Following a botched onieromantic ritual of some kind, Thessily spent all of 2009-2012 in a coma.
      • Since awakening, the Thrysus's stance on the Dreamer has subtly shifted, becoming more wary of the ancient sleeper and voting accordingly.
      • Most of those close to her know that the experience isn't entirely in the past: after-effects yet remain and something remains in her Onieros.
  • Sojourner (Free Council, Moros) serves as the Son's second-in-command, though his cachet falls far short of his leaders. This is largely because he keeps his focus almost entirely on Golden Hill, and frequently disappears for months at a time on lengthy expeditions into the Underworld,-- there's no Mage in the Southwest with greater understanding of Death and the Underworld-- even when he's topside he can best be described as "withdrawn". Many of the local Moros regard him favorably, however, and seek him out when they are in need of his expertise. Even the Mysterium recognizes (and covets) the Mysteries that he commands.
    • All but a non-entity Politically, Sojourner frequently doesn't even show up to Assembly and simply votes with his Cabal when he does. That said, whenever matters involve Ghosts or the Underworld, the Free Council looks toward him. He's served as a Strategoi in said circumstances on a few occasions and regards said responsibilities seriously when they arise.
      • For the three-year period during which Thessily was locked in her own mind, Sojourner stepped up and served as leader of the Cabal,-- and the Assembly,--
        • Those who remember his tenure know of him as a political force.
      • The Mysterium has approached him on numerous occasions, attempting to lure him away from the Free Council with promises of knowledge and lore, but to date he has not been swayed by such offers.
    • Creator of an Underworld-exploration focused Legacy, "the Delve", of which he is the sole member.
      • The Legacy focuses on Fate and Death, which it uses to navigate the Twisted Laws of the Underworld, pushing deeper and deeper into the dark dominions of the Great Below.
      • Sojourner claims to have (re)invented the Legacy based on Principles he found in several underworld Dominions, breaking at least one Old Law in the process,-- the Kerberoi of that Realm still hunts him.
