Back to TheLongNight

All material here at the moment is just my notes while I work on stuff; bear with me, work in progress.

Deus ex Mort is all that remains in Rome of a formerly large lineage; once they called themselves the Cappadocians, and came from all walks of life; their main duty, however, was as advisors and viziers to the courts of the Ventrue and Noctis, with time devoted to their own forms of study. A few worked alongside the Salubri as physicians and knights, as well.

Several coteries of these Cappadocians declared themselves and their powers the gifts of Pluto to the faithful, allowing them command over the dead in the dark of the night; calling themselves the Deus ex Mort, these coteries distanced themselves from other Cainites and laired in crypts and tunnels, coming forth only when they needed fresh materials or victims.

In recent years, however, the other Cappadocians have disappeared. Almost overnight, the elements loyal to the Triumvirate simply ceased to be present, leaving Deus ex Mort as the dominant Cappadocian force in the area. Now they bicker with the Nosferatu for command of the catacombs, and wait for the time to be right for their return to the surface, and the destruction of the other clans.

Sobriquet: Plutarchs, Cadavers

Clan Disciplines: Auspex, Fortitude, Mortis?

Clan Weakness: Regardless of the state of their soul reflected by their Road rating, and no matter how much blood a Cadaver has in his system, they forever retain the look of a freshly dead corpse; their pallid skin and emaciated frames more easily mark them as vampires, incurring a +1 difficulty to social and Masquerade rolls.

Faction Affiliation: None. Considered Insurrectionists by default.
