< Fighting Ahlat | Logs | Enter The Sea >

Autumn{v} The ranch was immense, waterfalls falling not too far from the windows, the sound of their crashing and the rivers soothing, the sound of divine birds singing... the scarves around Venus' arms, tight, the kisses on her flesh, after so much... relaxation. And a whisper between kisses... "You know you are going to die, right?"

venus{A} laughs, "Of course... but not today." She smiles up at him. "I thought I might, earlier... even without his magic, that spear..."

Autumn{v} "But you didn't. Such a powerful, powerful girl, and you chose not to use any of your power against him..." the touch of ice on the tip of his finger, melting as it touched her nose, melting as it touched her lips, spiraling downward her neck... "That was so brave. To cripple yourself like that. Silly, but brave."

venus{A} shivers at his touch, "What do you mean?" She licks the icy water away from her lips, tilting her head back. "The few tricks I know could never compare to His."

Autumn{v} "They would allow you to survive, though. A Shadow of Divinity with half the grandeur of your star would be able to push herself to First Blood if need be, if backed by her magic. One... as strong as you? Would be so easy." He ended at her bellybuttom, letting three droplets fall there, and kissing her lips, "Of course, no Shadow of Divinity could EVER be as powerful as you are."

venus{A} kisses back, then asks, "Why not?"

Autumn{v} "Because it is impossible. As impossible as a Mortal ruling Heaven. To become so powerful, as a Children of Gods, is to leave your mortal shell behind. And you still have it, don't you?" He touches her, almost a tickle. "Oh, you still have it."

venus{A} closes her eyes, "Impossible." she repeats, a hint of unease in her voice, "Autumn, what are you talking about? I'm still here, still as mortal as the day we met. I'm still venus... Just tell me what's wrong?"

Autumn{v} "No, you aren't." He kisses her. "You lied. You lied, and lied, and lied."

Autumn{v} "I was born on lies, venus. I loved it. I loved this game. But you know it had to end, right?" He caresses her face affectionately, smiling... "How long did you even expect it to last?"

venus{A} sighs softly, looking up at him again, "I wanted to tell you, Autumn, but how could I? I told you that I would be the one you wanted me to be. I didn't expect to find out that you were the one I wanted too. I wanted it to last forever... You are the only part of Yu Shan that is Heaven. I'm so sorry, Autumn." Tears shine in her eyes, and she blinks them away.

Autumn{v} "You were who I wanted you to be. And I didn't ask anything... but you did lie...." He stops, red hair falling over his face, hiding his eyes. "Nothing lasts forever, venus. I just have to make it pleasant, while it lasts..."

venus{A} shivers a little, pulling against the scarves ever so slightly. "Autumn, please... I love you. And that's not a lie." She tries to look into his eyes, "Please. If you love me. Just... let me go. I'll leave, and I'll never come back here to bother you again." she pauses, "Unless you want me."

Autumn{v} The scarves tighten. His eyes are nowhere to be seen. "What are you?"

venus{A} is silent for a long time, trying to see him, then she whispers softly, sadly, "Anathema."

Autumn{v} "Anathema..." He repeated, his voice neutral, before leaning foward, his lips nearly touching hers'... "Remember what I asked you before?"

venus{A} shakes her head a little, feeling his breath on her lips. Her fingers clench around the scarves where they lead away from her wrists, and he can feel the tension in her trembling body.

Autumn{v} says, slowly, lips touching hers' like a knife playing on her skin, "You know you are going to die, right?"

venus{A} shakes her head, "Not today, Autumn. Please, not today." and she pushes her head up to steal a kiss from him. "Let me stay with you."

Autumn{v} kisses her back, and even though she cannot see his eyes, a stray tear touches her lips, "It has to be today. You shouldn't love me. You shouldn't have loved me. Love brings death."

venus{A} "Love brings life, Autumn... It can be different this time. Take off your mask, let me see your face. If you must kill me, then, it must be you."

Autumn{v} takes off his mask, the tears flowing from it. "When I came to Heaven, she took care of me. She never touched me anymore. She took me to parties, and let me lounge around. Five times I fell in love, and five times my heart broke. They took it all from me until nothing was left. All four of them..."

Autumn{v} His fingers were sharp as the thorns of bitter flowers, playing over her chest... "... and the fifth, I broke her heart. I played her, I used her, I discarded her. That day, she came to me and told me I was ready to learn. I was ready. I can't love. And if you love me, it's better if I kill you now."

venus{A} gasps as his fingers leave lines of anticipated pain down her chest, "Let me love you, Autumn, you don't have to love me back. I won't take anything from you." she is crying freely now, "Please, just let me live. I can help you save the world. I'll do whatever you need. I want to stay yours."

Autumn{v} sighs, his nail drawing a single droplet of blood on her chest... and then, he stops, and the scarves fall from her arms. And he cries. "... I can't..."

venus{A} gasps again as her hands are freed, and she reaches up for him, touching his face, "Autumn," she whispers.

Autumn{v} "...I love you..."

Autumn{v} "Kill me."

Autumn{v} "Please."

venus{A} "No." She brushes away his tears. "Not today, my love. Not today."

Autumn{v} holds her hand, pushing her to him, leaning on her for support as his tears flow... "I hate you. I love you. Mine..."
