Snake Style, revised

This style uses the Serpent-Sting Staff and Hook Swords as its signature weapons. These weapons are considered to be the equilivent of fighting unarmed when one is using this style.

Snake Style

  • Striking Cobra Technique is the initiative boosting charm; reduce the cost to 2 motes. There is no limit to how high you can raise your initiative with magic, but you can only invoke this charm once per turn.
  • Serpentine Evasion is the dodge boosting charm; raise the cost to 4 motes. This charm adds your Martial Arts score to every dodge roll you make during the turn. You must have an initial dodge pool in order to benefit from this charm; it does not give you a dodge action. You cannot more than double your Dexterity + Dodge with this charm.
  • Snake Form is the basic Form of Snake Style. It is unchanged.
  • Essence Fangs and Scales Technique is the soak and damage booster charm; change the Type to Reflexive. The lethal damage inflicted with this charm is considered piercing.
  • Armor-Penetrating Fang Strike is the armor-negating charm; reduce cost to 4 motes, 1 willpower. Armor not forged from the Five Magical Materials has its soak reduced by 1/1 after being pierced with this charm.
  • Snake Strikes the Heel is the counterattack charm; it is just an inefficient counterattack charm that can be used whenever the character is attacked. I.e., the character does not need to actually be hit to use this charm.
  • Crippling Pressure Point Strike has been revised; see below.
  • Uncoiling Serpent Prana is the distance-attack charm; the character may make attacks out to his Essence + Martial Arts score in yards, provided he has a clear path to the target. The character can try to make "blind sweeps" at unseen opponents, but this is a +2 difficulty to the attack roll. The minimum Essence for this charm is 2.
  • Striking Serpent Speed has been revised; see below.
  • Essence Venom Strike is the aggravated damage charm; reduce the cost to 7 motes, 1 willpower. A character injured with this attack looses one point of Stamina. This loss is permanent for mortals, and heals in two weeks for Exalted.

Revised Charms
Crippling Pressure-Point Strike

  Cost: 5 motes
  Duration: Instant
  Type: Simple
  Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Snake Strikes the Heel

The character strikes at the vital essence points of the characters frame, disturbing and poisoning that characters essence flows. A successful attack with this charm inflicts no damage, but the charater may choose to roll his Essence + Martial Arts. 10s only count as one success for this roll, and every success inflicts a -1 penality to all actions on her target. This penality lasts for a number of turns equal to the characters Martial Arts score. The impairment inflicted by this charm is not cumulative with additional uses of this charm; apply the best result, and reset the duration.

Striking Serpent Speed

  Cost: 6 motes, 1 willpower
  Duration: Instant
  Type: Extra Action
  Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  Minimum Essence: 3
  Prerequisite Charms: Uncoiling Serpent Prana

The character internalizes the reflexes, reaction time and raw speed of the serpent. Upon invoking this charm the character moves casually from perfect stillness to a flurry of activity. The character forsakes his normal action, for the option to roll his Essence + Martial Arts and take one action per success rolled. These actions must be physical in nature, and any attacks must be based on the Martial Arts ability, but the character need not use all the actions for attacks.

This charm may explictly be placed in a combo with charms of other abilities, but this does not in any fashion overcome the above limitations or the rules for comboing Extra Action charms.
