Unfolding Petal sits in the center of the grand bacchanal that absorbs Chaya during the season of Fire, his attendants gyrating wildly about him as he looks on with satisfaction.
Unfolding Petal After a moment, he seems to notice that Lai is standing expectantly nearby and not celebrating wildly AT ALL, so he slowly sidles over.
Unfolding Petal "Visitor, you are not celebrating. What is the meaning of this?" He speaks with a sibilant, utterly unthreatening voice.
Lai Misuna "I find the festivities do not touch me as they once did, Unfolding Petal." He speaks as one might to an respected equal. "I have higher purpose now, and a proposition for you. One best heard in private."
Unfolding Petal looks Lai up and down for a moment. Apparently satisfied, he nods. "Yes, yes. Please come this way," he says, waving one hand and opening a petal-circled doorway to his personal sanctum.
Unfolding Petal "Please continue to be festive in my absence, everyone."
Lai Misuna Lai pauses, but just for an instant and then seems to pass the momentary hesitation and steps through the petal-doorway into the sanctum of Unfolding Petal.
Unfolding Petal The sanctum, like a strangely classical open-air mansion rendered entirely in flower petals and white silks, is spacious and pleasant, and a nice breeze blows through it, ruffling the walls, at all times.
Unfolding Petal waves one hand and a round bistro table of mother-of-pearl rises overdramatically from within the petalled floor, and two chairs follow shortly after. "Please choose."
Lai Misuna takes a seat, doing his best not to look surprised and almost managing after the events of the past few days. "Thank you."
Unfolding Petal also seats himself carefully, his chair growing into an elaborate golden flower-throne as he does so. "Down to business then."
Lai Misuna "Just so." He nods. "I will be frank here, as I see little point in ..ahem, flowery language. I contain within myself the potential of Exaltation and I have the knowledge of the nessessary components and processes that any gods can make more of them. It is my intention to use this knowledge to raise an army of Gods and Exalts to take over the world and thereby claim my destiny. To complete the Exaltation within me, I need the essence of a willing god of power. That would be yourself if you so consent. With your help, and that of my new found friends, we will make the core of an organisation that will change the face of Creation, bring the problems of the world to Heaven's gates and throw them open." He looks to the God. "Does the idea intrigue you?"
Lai Misuna willing god of power. That would be yourself if you so consent. With your help, and that of my new found friends, we will make the core of an organisation that will change the face of Creation, bring the problems of the world to Heaven's gates and throw them open." He looks to the God.
Lai Misuna "Does the idea intrigue you?"
Unfolding Petal is astonished and silent for a moment as the horror of the heretical idea washes over him. "That would... the Sun would... but if anyone discovers..." He sputters for a moment. "The Star-Chosen will come to stop it!"
Unfolding Petal is not a noble or respectful god, and the appeal of the idea is written clearly across his face... but he is definitely concerned.
Lai Misuna "What of the Sun? But anyway, we will have to be very private about it, should you agree." He regards the god. "I would not worry overmuch about the starchosen however. Despite this being my destiny ... they have already given up on me. I do not think they will come looking for a time."
Unfolding Petal nods and looks around a little. He has never been a popular god, and the idea of power appeals to him.
Lai Misuna "But tell me, what of the Sun?"
Unfolding Petal "....who else is involved in this?" It wouldn't do to sign on with a few specific Gods, after all. Unfolding Petal was not about to be Grace-of-Nine-Flavors' bootboy again...
Lai Misuna "You would be the first." He says, with a slight smile. "Beyond that, I could not say. I am sure we could talk of potentials to approach. Of course, we three Exalts and the Gods that grant us that gift will be at the heart of it all."
Unfolding Petal tries to avoid appearing too greedy but is not particularly good at it, though it's clear he is also still a little worried that it is a trap. "I... suppose, I suppose. If I were to be the first. The foremost. If...everyone were to know of my importance."
Lai Misuna "Of course they will, for it is my destiny to stand aside the world and I would be filled with your power, your glory. The power of the red lily."
Unfolding Petal shakes involuntarily and a cloud of pollen spreads out into the air.
Unfolding Petal "Yes... yes. Let's do it. This is a wonderful idea....?" He ends lamely as he realizes his new foremost worshipper has yet to identify himself by name.
Lai Misuna "I am Lai Misuna and I thank you for accepting my offer."
Unfolding Petal nods. "Let us rejoin the festivities! Even more celebration is called for!"
Lai Misuna "Yes indeed there is."
