It all began 25 years ago,-- the Markarth Incident,-- when following the Great War, the Jarl of Markarth and the Imperials made an agreement with Ulfric Stormcloak. He would recapture the city from the savage Breton's that had taken it and in return free-worship of Talos would be allowed in the Hold. It's an agreement that the Imperials broke, leading to Ulfric's imprisonment, and ever since the Rebellion has been simmering. Lines have been drawn and allegiances tallied, sides chosen, all that waits now is the inciting incident that sets the entire Province aflame.
