Olosh is one of the fungal Okasha hundredfold, and he has dwelt within the city of Era'vina, the mushroom city of Hundredfold exiles that sits within a bubble of normality far into the deep Wyld, for his entire life. Of the several species of Hundredfold who have a full presence in the city, the Okasha are perhaps the most frequent, it having once been their city alone.

When each of the Okasha ascends to adulthood, they undergo a mystical trance in which they are chosen for one of the Seven Callings; Olosh emerged as a Prophet, and ever since he has had prophetic visions of the future, though they are often unclear and difficult to turn towards useful ends.

Over his years of life, Olosh has become well-considered within Era'vina society and has ties to many individuals throughout the city. He has served to lead many exploration groups, searching out other pockets of stability within the Wyld that the citizens might make use of, and even twice making the long, harsh journey to Creation in search of resources. He is viewed as a wise, reasonable individual and a leader by many of those in the city, though he also has his enemies.

When Olosh meets Lai, Shikaya, and Holbar, he is overcome by a vision of surprising intensity:

He sees the three standing together, as three figures -- a red flower, a brown bear, and a purple knife -- are outlined in light behind them, while the sky shines bright blue. Lai raises his hands high above his head, a red sword clutched in one, and the petals of the red flower begin to fly out into the air and land all over Creation -- and each transforms to a pool of brilliant red blood as it lands; the other two engage in an elaborate ritual combat and as sparks fly from each clash they set the world afire. The fight concluded in a draw, Shikaya and Holbar walk away, to the north and south, but then each looks up into the sky and collapses. Lai closes his one open outstretched hand and the sun becomes eclipsed and the land grows dark. Lai climbs to the top of the Imperial Mountain and laughs, when a red arrow strikes him in the chest, and five pairs hands reach up from behind him -- one red, and four black -- and pull him down into the ground.

Olosh has known Istenda for many years due to his residence in Era'vina. He knows that Istenda bears (and hides) the Twisted Ouroboros, the mark of service to the Ebon Dragon, and has been suspicious that he would put this allegiance above the needs of Era'vina for some time; as he watches Istenda interact with Lai and company, that suspicion grows stronger.

Olosh's sister, Elari, is also a prominent member of the Era'vina community; she was chosen for the role of Celebrant, and has worked dilligently in that role. He is uncertain about her (eventual) relationship to Lai, but trusts her to do what is right and believes it may help influence him away from Istenda's views.
