Friends

  • Mad McHenry Jones - Wizard specializing in shamanistic rituals and physical enhancement with magic. Lives in Oregon's Klamath Mountains with a family of similar mountain folk wizards. Big as an bull and twice as strong as Aiseki would say. Most significant adventure with Aiseki was in the ancient gold mines of El Guachico. Aiseki calls him Tingle, and he calls her Tangle. (former lover, even proposed)
  • Morgain Ravensblut - Unknown but probably not normal, and not a wizard. Specialist in the techniques of infiltration, sneakthievery, and the con job. Has a cute tattoo somewhere, and Aiseki knows this. It's not someplace obvious though. Aiseki seemed to think she has some sort of limited shadow manipulation. She was always pulling things out of the shadows of places far too small for them. (former foe turned lover)
  • Krystal and Kasey Moonbeam - Hippy twins who seem to have an inordinate amount of luck, finding serendipity in their arrival and many other things. While they might not seem THAT useful as teachers, they are pretty good at pointing out that a significant part of life is just noticing the little signs and taking advantage of them. Also, they are more than a little world wise, if eccentric even by Aiseki's standards. (friends/allies)
  • Dirk Steele - Ex-spook for some agency. Country of origin unknown. Probably isn't his real name. One of the biggest experts on the techniques and tools of his trade. He literally wrote the book on it, but knows it'll never get published, and if he tries they'll put a hit on him. Knows about dead-drops, caches, how to procure false id, even how to use offical agencies to get these things without them realizing it. Not so big on the electronic side of things. (worked with Aiseki, but not a real friend)
  • Elaina Vesper - Currently a nun. Very pious, but tends to have her own weird mishmash of differing beliefs. Not really a sorceress herself, but one of the greatest experts in the identification of hostile magics and such, their untangling, and warding. Aiseki pulled her out of a bad situation where she was being forced to protect a nasty cabal of sorcerers from being easily detected. (heartbroken over Aiseki, but neither talks about it much)
  • Urlgo - Wild man of the forests of Minnesota. Not human, but some sort furry reptilian. Can speak a guttural form of English, but it's difficult due to a tongue not made for it. Has minor telepathy that is only good for communication. Knows the wilds of many places and how to survive them. Also, strangely, an expert in some form of vision questing that either taps into ancestral memory or past lives. The exact nature was never clear. When speaking telepathically, is quite erudite. (friend that Aiseki once hunted then cuddled with a lot)
  • Launo Iivonen - Primal warrior and child of rage. While something of a berserker, this is not his real power. That is that for some reason, when he taps into his bottomless font of fury, the elements respond to it. Moreover he seems able to teach a lesser version of this to others, though not always the same triggering emotion as his own. Aiseki believes now that somehow certain emotional states speak to the Mythic and it responds, even if it shouldn't normally. (fuck-buddy)
  • "I am Parasiel, called the Hundred-Handed, and you will not pass, Aisekikawa. This is not your Time; you will not Interfere."
