New Spells and such for New Beginnings!

General Info & Pages

The Circle of Emerald

The most common, and weakest, of the three Circles of Sorcery. Of the Exalted, only the Dragon-Blooded are limited to such magics but even more advanced practitioners often use such magics when more powerful magics would be too draining or simply overkill. Plus, all Sorcerers - no matter how powerful - have a grounding in these basic magics that makes them a common foundation upon which more potent effects are built.

A Terrestrial Circle spell usually costs between 10 and 20 motes, with 25m being the upper boundary for effects of this Circle. Most Terrestrial Circle spells are a bit weak for their cost, irregardless, and have many bread and butter effects that are praised even by more experienced Sorcerers.

The Circle of Sapphire

The most widespread of the three Circles of Sorcery, practiced by the Celestial Exalted as well as the greatest of the Gods. These magics afford a level of power above that of the simple spells of the Emerald Circle, but are still ultimately limited. These magics, in addition to their power, are quite rare and generally considered to be the magics of the Anathema by the common folk of Creation. They're not unattainable, however, for those with the power to master this Circle.

A Celestial Circle spell usually costs between 20 and 30 motes, with 35m being the upper boundary for effects of this Circle. A Celestial Circle spell is, in general, of about the normal power level for its most cost with the prime limitation being the lack of available power for more potent effects.

The Circle of Adamant

The rarest and most potent of the three Circles of Sorcery, legitimately practiced only by the recently returned Solar Exalted. That said, these magics are the stuff of Legend and their full power is unlikely to be felt in Creation for quite some time. As of yet, no known Solar Exalted has mastered the Adamant Circle and as the Sorcerers of the First Age knew well mastering these powerful magics is only the beginning of ones quest to master Sorcery.

A Solar Circle spell is any spell with a cost of 40 or more motes, though some spells (usually ones with drawbacks) are significantly cheaper. There is no hard upper limit to the spells that can be cast by a Solar Circle Sorcerer, but 200 motes is the general upper limit for a single sorcerer in play.
