• Birds looks up from her desk as Markuran opens the door. "Ah, there you are, Marku. I wanted to discuss a crisis I am having with the Faith."

<Markuran> "Ah? What crisis? I was going to ask you if you had finished baking those cookies with the fruit Cerin brought back from his trip to Juche."

<BirdsOfTrinity> "There -was- a basket of cookies in the throne hall, and some fresh jam, which is delicious," she dips a finger in a small bowl of brightly-coloured stuff on the table and licks it, "in the cellar."

<Markuran> "Oh. I'll look for it there. But you had a crisis?"

<BirdsOfTrinity> "I don't think that the Faith has time for the truth."

<Markuran> "..what?'

<BirdsOfTrinity> "Well, not the -whole- truth, anyway."

<Markuran> "The whole truth about...what?"

<BirdsOfTrinity> "You know, everything."

<Markuran> "What parts do you suggest omitting?"

<BirdsOfTrinity> "Knowledge of the worlds outside Creation."

<BirdsOfTrinity> "Those can go in, like, what's the word? Apostrophes?"

<BirdsOfTrinity> "Apocrypha."

<Markuran> "Yes. If that is all you think should be omitted, I see no quibble."

  • Birds nods.

<BirdsOfTrinity> "It's just this whole 'world collapsing around our ears' thing."

<BirdsOfTrinity> "It makes it a little difficult to do the requisite research."

<Markuran> "Yes, I know. Don't concern yourself with it. The masses will have no truck with the other realms, their knowledge need not be intimate. It is more important to instill the basic precepts."

<BirdsOfTrinity> "Than I will not let that trouble me any longer."

<BirdsOfTrinity> *then

<Markuran> "And my drafts of the book, they meet with your approval?"

<BirdsOfTrinity> "They were a joy to read."

<Markuran> "Do you have any changes to suggest?"

<BirdsOfTrinity> "Nothing of substance, though I thought it might be amusing to present it as an epic poem. I threw together a draft of that somewhere....I think I used it to line the cookie basket, actually."

<Markuran> "Maybe for a gospel."

<Markuran> "How long until we can begin disseminating the book?"

<BirdsOfTrinity> "Fairly soon."

<BirdsOfTrinity> "It's just a matter of making copies. I can make a few tens in a day, but that is nothing like the kind of volume that we need."

  • Markuran nods.

<Markuran> "Zahara and I are busy with the war, we can not spare time to create an army of golem-scribes."

<BirdsOfTrinity> "What we need is a way for mortals to reproduce the book rapidly."

  • Birds think.

<BirdsOfTrinity> "Maybe Smoking Mirror and the Red Court can do something useful. Ill send him South with a copy."
