The Blue Prince

Henry Irons aka the Lost/Forgotten/Blue Prince

POV: Most of the world sees the fabulous "Lost" Prince. Where is he from? To which country shall he take the throne? But he knows better. He's a fraud... who maybe, maybe with the grace of God will he master his gift that he was chosen for and become the reality.

Appearance: A shorter boy of fourteen years. He has pale blue eyes and a slight rosy hue to his skin. When at "home" he dresses well and proper as any real prince. But when visiting his friends, he has old ragged clothes, those of the street. But there is one thing he NEVER removes and will die to keep, the nameless blue diamond on a chain... a diamond he has named for the Hope it has inspired in him.

The Questions

Humble Beginnings: Henry was born the runt of twins. They were separated from their mother by the harshness of life and childbirth, a bitter lesson Henry would carry on with him. At age four, he was torn from his brother, his near mirror, though taller and more robust, by their father. That man is a shadowy figure who to this day still haunts the nightmares of Henry, which he quickly forgets about. He was then sold to an orphanage, where things seemed... strangely better.

Follies of Youth: Henry gathered to him a gang of the other boys and a few girls. They sold cookies... but sometimes the kids would... ahem, modify the cookies so as to have some fun. But they soon learned to regret it as the tenor of the orphanage became...

First Awakenings: Sinister. The halls felt haunted by something not of this earth, and boys and girls seemed unable to stay awake, only to find their friends and companions gone in the morning. More kids were coming in, some were weaker, while others were nastier and bullies. Henry gathered his friends together, none of whom had been taken... yet. But they planned an escape! Dark, Strange things came from the shadows to chase them, but they reached a cathedral and the priest shut the doors tight against the evil without, which howled and scratched the door.

Mysterious Origins: But it was not to be that easy. His friends over the next three years would disappear... even the new friends he made in the street urchins. Whatever evil had haunted the orphanage, by their escape, they had released it, or so they believed. One day, Henry was moving through an alley, trying to reach the other end to escape a mark he pickpocketed. But he came upon a figure in black with a top hat and silver plates on his shoes slaughtering a man. But the face was always hidden in shadows. The sounds of the Peelers looking for him scared off the top-hatted man.

He picked up a pouch off the man and quickly moved on, knowing that his mark hadn't seen him for anything but "another damn street urchin", and he could escape unmolested from the dead body. A HUGE blue diamond on a chain as a pendant lay inside the velvet. When he reached his bolthole, he passed by a mirror and saw himself and wondered how he'd look with it on. Putting it on revealed to him that the diamond itself had a will and had convinced him to put it on. And in this moment he slid it under his shirt as it promised him everything he could want and more, if he would but wear it properly. And so, the Blue Prince was born.

Great Failing: Henry has tried to forget his lurking past, and has succeeded all too well. The shadows from the orphanage that took children are still out there. His father (who still terrifies him) and twin brother still might live and decide they want something of it for themselves.
