Lunar Charm Cascade Errata
Knacks
- Honing the Stolen Form (page 132), as a clarification, allows the Lunar's forms to change in other ways that don't necessarily require Experience as well. In fact, such changes are more likely to be the reason a Lunar would take this knack, as opposed to wishing to buy up a shape's Strength or Stamina.
- Laurels-and-Ivy Technque (page 134) changes its Minimum Requirements to Essence 3, Perception 5.
- Twin-Faced Hero (page 136) changes its Essence Minimum of 2.
General Charms
- Instinctive (Attribute) Unity (page 141) allows the Lunar to spend an additional 1wp when activating the charm, to extend the duration to One Day.
- Flawless (Attribute) Focus (page 141) can be purchased once at Essence 2, for either a Caste or Favored Attribute. At Essence 3, the Lunar may purchase the charm as many times as he wishes. Attribute Specialties can stack with Ability specialties, provided both are applicable, to a maximum of a (+6) dice bonus.
the Full Moon Caste
Strength
- Claws of the Silver Moon (page 144) changes its duration to One Day. This Charm's modifiers are based on the natural, unmodified Attribute ratings of the Lunar's true human form. When activated as a Gift, you can instead use your attributes in Deadly Beastman Transformation.
- Throat-Baring Hold (page 147) is a Simple(6/N) charm that provides a new Clinch option for when you've gained control of a clinch. The actual mechanics of the Charm are otherwise unchanged. See the Grapple Rules for more rules.
- Wasp-Binding Method (page 147) is essentially a Supplemental effect that modifiers the Bound action, so that you don't have to first take two Hold actions prior to using this action. This charm is still superior to a normal Bound option, note, as it allows the Lunar to oppose his opponents attempts to escape. Once the duration of the Charm passes, the target is no longer bound unless the Lunar actually restrained him in some fashion, however.
- Deadly Mantis Practice (Glories: Luna, p. 22) also eliminates the penalty for Dual-Wielding.
Dexterity
- Graceful Crane Stance (page 149) changes its duration to One Day.
- Flowing Body Evasion (page 151) changes its Prerequisite Charms to Wary Swallow Method, and has a Duration of Instant.
- Snake Body Technique (page 152). Although declared in Step 2, this Charm resolves as normal for a counterattack in step 9, permitting the original aggressor to defend himself against his redirected attack.
- Ground-Denying Defense (page 152), as a bonus, protects the Lunar from the Magnitude of an enemy unit when defending as a Solo Unit in Mass Combat.
Stamina
- Steadfast Yeddim Meditation (page 156) changes its duration to One Day.
- Luna's Fortitude (page 157), as a clarification, literally postpones dying. If you use this charm to avoid dying, once you stop paying the charm's cost every action you quite literally die. This charm is still quite useful to avoid unconsciousness, however, and it can be combined with Unstoppable Juggernaut Incarnation from that point on to prevent an already bad situation (full bashing) from turning into something worse (that bashing upgrading to Lethal).
- External Hide Perfection (page 158). This charm makes the character immune to charms with the Environmental Keyword, provided they fit into the rough categories outlined by the (Directional) Mastery charm's the Lunar knows.
- Relentless Lunar Fury (page 158) changes its Keywords to Combo-Basic.
- Halting the Scarlet Flow (page 160) works similarly to Bruise-Relief Method. The Lunar can heal one lethal health level as a reflexive action, costing 2m, but may only do this once per action. The Lunar may use this Charm even when unconscious. When used as a Gift, this Charm requires the commitment of 3m and permits the Lunar to reflexively regenerate one lethal health level at the beginning of each action.
- Hide-Toughening Essence, and Armor-Forming Technique (both, page 160) changes their durations to One Day.
the Changing Moon Caste
Charisma
- Dog-Tongue Method (Lunars, page 163) changes its duration to One Day. Note that while the Lunar can communicate complex subjects to animals, and exert surprising levels of control and cooperation from them, they are still animals.
- Pack Instinct Affirmation (Lunars, page 163) has Minimum's of Charisma 3, Essence 2. This charm raises the number of Familiars a Lunar can have up to his (Essence), and allows the Lunar to gain a Familiar if he has a slot available or to replace one of his currently extant Familiars. Any former Familiar's "abandoned" with this Charm remain well disposed to the character, and retain any bonuses they might have gained from the Familiar Bond (including the ability to communicate with the Lunar without the use of Dog-Tongue Technique) but are not generally willing to freely accompany the character any longer.
- Nature-Reinforcing Allocation (page 163), for clarification, can be used on any animal - not just Familiars. If the Lunar has the Charm, "Pack Instinct Affirmation," the Lunar may also devote a week to making an animal a weak familiar. Each week applies one effective dot of the Familiar Background, but only for the purposes of purchasing the animal as a loyal companion. No additional familiar abilities are possible.
- Hard-Nosed Denial Style (page 168), has a duration of Instant (One scene). The external penalty applied by this charm applies to any subsequent attempt at the same basic argument during the scene, regardless of the attacker.
- Sacred Guardian Renewal (Glories: Luna, p. 24) functions on stunts that aid the Lunar's Pack, his Solar Mate, other Lunar Exalted or Luna herself. Moon Follows Sun Assurance (p. 25), and Lunar Eclipse Technique (p. 25), still only work with the Lunar's Solar Mate.
Manipulation
- Butterfly Eyes Defense (page 173) has a Duration of Instant. This charm provides a limited Perfect Defense, which doesn't work against unexpected attacks but can handle unblockable and/or undodgeable attacks. It provides no defense against a Perfect Attack, however, automatically forfeiting any roll-off. This works via an Illusion effect, and can be resisted for the rest of the Scene with an expenditure of 4 Willpower. If the attacker has reason to suspect its unreal nature, lower the cost to 2 Willpower while out-and-out proof sets the cost to 1 Willpower.
Appearance
- One of the Herd (page 176) changes its duration to One Day.
- The Clover Can't Be Found (page 177) changes its Type to Simple. The Lunar may spend an additional Willpower to extend the duration to One Day.
- Observed Predator Instinct (page 177) allows the target to resist the Illusion effect by spending 4 willpower.
- Irresistible Silver Spirit (page 177) changes its duration to One Scene. This charm probably deserves its own page with notes on "Spirit-OK" effects for other Social charms, but the effects would not be as large a part of the charm as "Fury-OK" charms are. Just little bonuses or flavorful effects.
the No Moon Caste
Perception
- Devil-Restraining Grip (page 179) only allows the Lunar to spend Essence to make a Spirit materialize, it doesn't force the Lunar to do so.
- Keen (Sense) Technique (page 183) changes its duration to One Day.
Intelligence
- Form-Fixing Method (page 186). As a reminder, a newly tattooed Lunar is considered to owe the Lunar that fixed its form a significant boon.
- Inevitable Genius Insight (page 188). This charm probably deserves its own page with notes on "Insight-OK" effects for other Social charms, but the effects would not be as large a part of the charm as "Fury-OK" charms are. Just little bonuses or flavorful effects.
- Lessons in the Blood (page 189) changes its cost to 1m, 1+wp. Delete the following sentence fragment; "Once the Char's duration ends, the memories and Abilities vanish forever." Instead, each time the Lunar uses this charm to gain access to the Abilities and memories of a form he's consumed with a Knack, the willpower cost of this charm increases by one.
- Terrestrial, and Celestial Circle Sorcery (page 190) give the character one free Spell when first learned, subject to Storyteller approval.
Wits
- Still Pond Infliction (Lunars, page 190) can be purchased a second time at Essence 4. This extends the effects of Still Pond Infliction to a full Lunar Month, and provides +1 bonus die to help anyone so blessed resist the mutating forces of the Wyld.
- Limitless Argent Protectorate (Luna, page 30) also alters the way the Duration of Secure Den Prana functions. Upon exiting his Den, the Lunar may elect to keep the four motes committed so as to keep his hidden world in existence. The next time he enters his Den, he re-enters the same world yet again.
