Terrestrial Hero Style

Complimentary Abilities: This is a natural style to the Dragon-Blooded, and it's charms are considered Dragon-Blooded charms (with the same notes as mentioned for the Immaculate Styles). A Dragon-Blooded can conceive Secret Charms for this Style without the need of a Mastery charm, and other Exalted can never develop a Mastery charm for this particular style. It has a single Primary Ability: Brawl.

Weapons & Armor: This is an unarmed style; it favors clinches, punches and kicks. It has no armor restrictions.

Aspect: This is a Water-aspected Terrestrial Style.

Currents Sweep to Sea

Cost: 1m; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Essence 1; Type: Reflexive (Step 1)
  Keywords: Combo-OK, Knockdown
  Duration: Instant
  Prerequisite Charms: None

An attack supplemented with this charm always causes a Knockback check, regardless of the damage inflicted. The target suffers an internal penalty to this roll equal to the attacker's Brawl rating. If the target is knocked down, the Exalt can use his First or Second Brawl Excellency free of charge on his next action.

Pounding Surf Style

Cost: 1m; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Essence 1; Type: Supplemental
  Keywords: Combo-OK, Clinch(Crush), Stackable
  Duration: Instant
  Prerequisite Charms: None

The inexorable nature of water is such that no defense or armor can keep it out forever - and water is patient. An attack or clinch that is supplemented by this Charm and hits ignores one point of the target's soak. Each time this charm is successfully used against an opponent in the same scene stacks the effect; -1 soak the first attack, -2 the second, -3 the third and so on. This penalty in way reflects damage to armor or the character's natural soak, simply the Dragon-Blooded gaining an advantage over his target and wearing away at weak points. No penalty is applied if the attack misses.

The effects of this charm take place before taking into account the effect of piercing attacks; for the purposes of such attacks, soak from armor is considered to be lost before any natural soak. Only the Dragon-Blooded himself receives the benefits of this charm. At Essence 3, the Dragon-Blooded also ignores an equal amount of Hardness, if he spends an additional mote when activating the charm to supplement a given attack.

Flow from the Rocks

Cost: 2m; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Essence 2; Type: Supplemental
  Keywords: Combo-OK, Clinch(Hold), Stackable
  Duration: Until next action
  Prerequisite Charms: Pounding Surf Style

The Dragon-Blooded using this charm imitates the close relationship between the Ocean and it's friend, the Seagull, which waits until the Water has receded to reveal hundreds of Shellfish before dashing them against the rocks. The Exalt thus supplements a Hold attained in a clinch, causing extra successes on the control check to reduce the victim's soak from armor by one bashing and one lethal each. This lasts until the Stylists next action, and if the Dragon-Blooded remains in control of the grapple and takes another Hold action, he may activate this charm again. The benefits of such stack, continuing to reduce the armor's effectiveness. If the Dragon-Blooded loses control of the Clinch, or fails to use this charm, any accumulated bonus is lost and the charm ends.

Terrestrial Hero Form

Cost: 5m; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2; Type: Simple (Speed 5)
  Keywords: Clinch, Form-type
  Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: Currents Sweep to Sea, Flow from the Rocks

The Terrestrial Hero has the aloof invulnerability of the Ocean, and the rigorous discipline of a well-drilled Crew at sea. When activated, the Dragon-Blooded chooses to divvy up his Brawl dots between increasing his soak and enhancing his Grapples. Each dot added to Soak gives +2 bashing soak, and +1 lethal soak. The Martial Artist may also add these dots as bonus dice to any Stamina + Resistance rolls to avoid knockback, stunning or similar effects. Each dot added to enhance Grapples adds one bonus die to any clinch control roll, and to the damage inflicted by a Crush attack. This charm may be activated as a Control Action in a Clinch.

The Martial Artists choice when assuming the form determines its appearance. More points spent on Grappling give him a rolling, violent appearance while those with more points spent on soak acquire a calm, roll with it attitude. The Dragon-Blooded can take a Miscellaneous action (Speed 3, -1 DV) to refocus and reassign his dots which also changes the appearance of the style. Some who observe students of this Martial Art become convinced that the Stylist is practicing two styles.
