MINI - Masati and Mera Talk
Masati when in search of Finnre, later the evening for a private conversation
Finnre`Merayen was sitting in her room, laying down, thinking about the day's events.
Masati "May I talk to you for a moment?"
Finnre`Merayen "Of course. I hope that you've been learning the techniques that I expected that Salas could teach you.
Masati gives a small shrug, "Why did you mention my problem to begin with?"
Finnre`Merayen "Because, Salas is a chosen of Wood. They are healers, capable of healing many grevious wounds, even those to the mind it is said. Why wouldn't I mention it to someone who could help?"
Finnre`Merayen Anyway, there's no reason to hide it. Unless you are shamed by your lack of memory.
Finnre`Merayen But, why be shamed by something that is not your fault?
Masati sighs "Regardless of you opinions, it was not your decision to make. I understand that word got around Nulam, but I haven't spoken of my lack of memories to you or anyone here. It's rather disconcerting to have it spoken of so casually to a stranger"
Masati "I'd rather not be introduced as a foundling with no memories"
Finnre`Merayen "You are lacking in memories, it was only the smart thing to do to help by mentioning it to a good person who could help."
Masati "I can see that, but again, it was not your decision to make, and it's not the first impression i want to make on anyone. That is not something that needs to be brought up in a introduction"
Finnre`Merayen looks visibly confused as to how Masati couldn't understand that this was obviously for the best.
Finnre`Merayen We have little time here, and none to waste on carefully mentioning it in very subtle and difficult to understand ways.
Masati "Yes but I think a little courtesy and politness is not too much ask? How would you like an intimate condition laid bare in front of a total stranger, by someone else?"
Finnre`Merayen If it was one that could be fixed by said stranger, and that he would likely try to fix? I would rather it be done than continue to suffer.
Finnre`Merayen looks more and more confused by Masati's viewpoint, as if it was something completely alien.
Masati "I didn't see you asking if he could heal the scars you hide behind your mask. I didn't see you asking him to aid or heal anyone else other then me and I highly doubt I'm the only one with problems in this group"
Finnre`Merayen No, but if he could have healed my scars, he would have said so. I told him straight out that I was a former member of the Gunzosha... he and I both know what that means better than most.
Masati "So for yourself you were subtle. Did it ever occur that I might like the same courtesy? Maybe I don't want to forever the poor foundling who doesn't know who she is, and on top of that you know almost nothing about the situation"
Finnre`Merayen I was no more subtle... the Gunzosha are armors that drain the life and require extensive surgery. For him, that was as obvious as it was for most people. I just told simple truths.
Finnre`Merayen I understand you're trying to keep it secret, but why not seek help when help is there?
Masati "So you are nothing more then an open book for all to read, is that it?"
Finnre`Merayen Lying is a waste of everyones' time.
Masati "I probally would have, but I don't like having the choice taken from me"
Masati "and keeping secrets is not the same as lying"
Finnre`Merayen But, do you know what he could do? Your memory is damaged, and so you likely did not remember as far as I know.
Finnre`Merayen So, I simplified things
Masati "Did you ever stop to think if I wanted them back? You have never spoken of to me at all, yet just announce to all and sundry when I'm introduced"
Finnre`Merayen Why would you wish to not have them back? Unless....
Masati "My point is you don't know, the only thing you know is what floated around the village"
Finnre`Merayen frowns and her voice goes lower, "Unless you are trying to hide from your past and own self. Masati, we can no more deny ourselves than you could cut out your own heart with a sigh.
Finnre`Merayen Attempting to do so can only lead to sorrow and the gnashing of teeth.
Masati "I have a suspiscion that I have preciouse little choice either way, but I am not so incapcitated that need someone to make my decisions for me"
Finnre`Merayen sighs. "You just don't understand it. I did this for your own good."
Finnre`Merayen And you make choices for others... you're more than happy to decide if someone lives or dies. You are being hypocritical.
Masati "No I understand you were trying to help, what I want you to understand is that it was not a situation that is any of your business. I had chosen to confide in you or spoken to about it any way, it may have been different, but I didn't."
Masati "And more often then not, those decisions are based on what is conventient for myself"
Finnre`Merayen Yes, but who gave you the right to make a convenient choice for someone else... I'm not saying you're wrong or right, but that I made what is a "convienent" choice to help you, and you are holding me to a different standard.
Masati "So it was more convenient to you to ask that?"
Finnre`Merayen More than hoping you'd realize or remember that chosen of wood have the power to heal your mind.
Masati "Then you could have asked what I knew or mentioned that little tidbit, or any number of things, that didn't involve introducing me as some foundling"
Finnre`Merayen At least potentially...
Finnre`Merayen Why not be upfront?
Finnre`Merayen Honesty is best in these cases
Masati "Why does it matter to you? And honesty should not be foisted upon people"
Finnre`Merayen Because your lack of memory obviously disturbs you, and I could do something you would find difficult... telling the simple truth
Masati "It was not your story to tell"
Masati "No truth is ever simple, and if I want something I do find a way to get it"
Finnre`Merayen Perhaps so, but you might wait most your life till you got it. Now, your time should likely be shorter
Masati "If I do, it's my life to waste. It's my mind and my choice. If you are going to talk about again, talk to me first, not someone else"
Finnre`Merayen According to that theory, we should leave the Silver God be... because it's the choice of him and his people.
Finnre`Merayen We are here to affect others with our very presence. Some use it for good, some for wickedness. But, always, we change the choices of others.
Masati "No because I don't really care what he thinks or wants. I care about what I think and want. Now if you are trying to tell me that you don't care about what I think or want, I can accept that and deal with it accordingly"
Finnre`Merayen But, next time, I'll at least talk to you before saying anything... but I still wouldn't have done it differently.
Masati "Well don't do it again. I will decide who and what I want people knowing about me."
Masati "Or at the very least have the decency to sneak around behind my back"
Finnre`Merayen "You'd rather I was dishonest about it?
Masati "Keeping one's mouth shut about matters that don't concern her, is not dishonest"
Finnre`Merayen It's just as dishonest to hide a truth as to lie about it.
Masati "Don't you realize that not everything needs to spoken of? I know you have some concept of privacy or you wouldn't hide behind a mask"
Finnre`Merayen I do it for the comfort of others
Masati just shakes her head and stalks out the door
