The Blackbirds
"Blackbird" is basically the most popular shorthand used for "the Bishopric of Blackbirds", which in Boston consists of a number of changelings and is led by Lorraine. The Blackbirds have a strong leadership that's been around for quite some time, and a large number of enthusiastic sorts who have joined the Entitlement over the years. Every Blackbird is utterly devoted to assisting other Lost and helping them to retain clarity -- even at the cost of their own. The Blackbirds help is never free, however, with favors they accumulate through their "charitable" work being used as needed to help others or the Freehold as a whole. The Blackbirds, overall, tend toward low Clarity -- they've been at their tasks a fair amount of time and sometimes have to risk their own sanity to save others from a similar fate.
The Leadership
- Lorraine (Fairest, Bright One - Courtless) was once a member of the First Motley, and is the oldest Changeling in Boston. Sometimes, she feels very alone, and dedicates most of her time and energy to the betterment of her fellow Bostonians (as some say, "rather they want it or not".) Lorraine still maintains an amazing amount of Goodwill with the Spring Court (and the other Courts for that matter), despite having forsworn all Courts about 4 years ago in favor of devoting all her effort to the Bishopric.
- Dr. Elijah Jonah (Wizened, Chirurgeon - Autumn Court) the effective second in command of the Entitlement, Dr. Jonah has been a member of Lorraine's motley since the 60s when his original oathbound was disbanded during the Year With No Spring. He's long since given up any real hope or wish of having another motley, instead preferring to keep a close eye on Lorraine and the rest of the Bishopric from what he sees as a central position within the Blackbirds.
Other Blackbirds
- Frank Little (Ogre, Gargantuan - Spring Court) was a member of a now defunct motley that blew apart in '88, arguably over a love triangle that his Queen was in the middle of, but actually over his clumsy handling of said situation that has made "Little Franky" something of a Pariah. Frank accepts full responsibility for his errors and how they made a bad situation far worse, and suspects that he's going to be a member of Lorraine's motley long term despite Lorraine's wishes to the contrary (as she basically thinks of her motley as a placeholder for people with nowhere else to go).
