The Ravens Brotherhood
This group of med students currently in residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. All of them having been assigned there the same year, they pledged to each other as a fraternity, to help each other as doctors and as brothers. To Changelings, they might be a motley, but there's nothing supernatural about them - just human beings making their way in the world. All the fraternity members carry a black feather with them, pulled from the same raven. Giving this feather to someone else is a sign of trust and a plea for help, and also showing it to each other as part of the rituals that bind them. A necklace made of twine holds the feather openly around their neck when they're in private company, and is hidden in an inner pocket or somewhere else on their person otherwise.
When Timmy met them after the Winter Formal they had already bonded, and when he was assigned to work on their shift they quickly became friends, and Timmy was adopted as a kind of "mascot" since even though everyone liked him, he wasn't much good at medicine. Since his week as a nurse he's kept in touch, mostly just as a friend to party with but also as a contact for things hard to get, or for getting in places like bars and clubs as Timmy knows alot about that kind of thing. They really don't have much chance to make friends or have much of a social life, so nobody's been added to the group since Timmy and its likely nobody will. Most of the time they meet in a hospital lab they've claimed for their own use, but every so often they can stay up late and that's when Timmy does his thing.
The group has seven members plus timmy, four men and three women.
The group is envisioned as a kind of "lone gunman" slash "house" kind of group. They could be P Cs? in a non-supers game, but they're just a sidenote in ours. They're intended as somewhere Timmy can go to if he needs help researching or finding out something. If they actually are willing to go out and investigate something on their own, it won't be often, but they'll be more than happy to help him with anything he brings them.
Dave - Well spoken and kept, Dave never seems to be tired, and keeps this image meticulously. He's the face of the group, and also the most often promoted as he knows how to play the politics and has had an impressive series of mentors. He hopes to open his own practice after his residency and studies intensively for family medicine qualifications. He's currently dating Vanessa, whom his family love, and never seems to have any problem with money. He has short black hair, shaves and likes fine art.
Vanessa - Almost a year older than Dave, they share the same passion for work and high class. Her residency is in internal medicine and is the only one to have any use for Timmy medically because he is so observant. A bit less careful about her image as Dave she hasn't risen as quickly, but as a beautiful, intelligent and skillful internist she has no concerns about her career. Blonde and with a preference for black and buisness suits, her only casual ware is old college sweatshirts and sweatpants for jogging. Vanessa is planning on proposing to Dave as soon as she finds a ring.
Chloe - Small, mousey Chloe is a pathologist and a unpenitant geek. Fascinated by science at a young age, she won a chemistry scholarship in the process of blowing up her parents' garage. Becoming fascinated with the littelest creatures, she dual-majored in Biology and impressed her mentor Alfred Peterson enough that he decided to pay her way through med school. While she's still paying off that loan, it's not so bad as other students have it (though sometimes, it seems like she might actually be in a relationship with him, and she's never dating a man). Her house is a little apartment close to the hospital full of nerdy junk, and she's always going on about some new anime or science fiction series that nobody else seems to get except Penn. She is at least part indian, has red hair and likes things with straps on them.
Penn - Morbid Penn, a radiation specialist, is never far from a computer screen. That's the whole reason they're in the lab in the end - they can't seem to tear him away from his banks of computers long enough to go anywhere else. Death and radiation are his favorite subjects, and he never really talks about anything else unless he can relate it to one of them somehow. He's always processing some xray or MRI scan or looking at grisley photos to determine the cause of death, and has some contacts in the forensics lab that he cooperates with frequently. Not one for black eye shadow, he's always wearing his white hospital gown, open of course, with a liking of colorful striped shirts and black sneakers.
I like the first four as characters, but the names probably suck, especially Dave. The next three are less interesting TV sterotypes, and if we can do away with or somehow combine two of them that's fine with me.
Trevor - Anasthesiology. A gentle soul, who has commented that he may end up working with animals but has no real experience with them. Trevor is black, coming from a family from out of state who he talks about frequently, but never seems to visit. Interested in politics and ecology as well as anasthesiology, he finds that the calmness of his life sometimes gets a little too quiet and he needs to speak out about them. Because of that he is well respected by the faculty and consults for the ethics board, which his current mentor sits on. His most notable feature is his deep sonorous voice which can sometimes put people to sleep without any medicine at all, but he makes sure to always do his job.
Sven - A serb who liked the foreign student exchange so much he decided to stay. Sven is strong, tough, muscular and completely calm, which is excellent considering that he is a brain surgeon. Sven likes to play music when he is alone, mostly guitar. He likes just about everything american, the music, the cars, the women, but often finds himself wondering if he isn't somehow betraying his country in coming here. He often visits the embassy and occasionally takes sudden trips home, which are beginning to irritate his superiors. The rest of the group try and cover for him but they're not brain surgeons and time is running out for him to make his decision.
Erica - An average girl in an average america, Erica's favorite pasttimes are taunting Sven, smoking, watching romantic comedies and working as little as she can. Her residency is as a surgeon, and is always experimenting with a new perfume out of the fear that she's just grown use to the smell of decay and just didn't scrub hard enough. Chloe, in return, likes to torment her by talking about her smells and the many bacteria crawling over everything. Erica is dating a younger man, someone who used to be on the football team for the Boston Terriers who is always begging to come along with the ravens brotherhood, but she's always putting him down and trying to keep work and play seperate. Erica is a strong-willed woman with curly brown hair and never wears her work clothes longer than she has to, favoring cordory, skirts and heels.
Erika is the evil bitchy character that nobody watching the tv show likes and can't figure out how everyone else is friends with her. I'm not sure if that character needs to be in the group, but that's the important thing about her. Details open to change.
