Solar Integrity
Broken Mirror Technique
Cost: 10m; Mins: Integrity 4, Essence 3; Type: Simple (-0 DV)
Keywords: None
Duration: Instant (Varies)
Prerequisite Charms: Stubborn Boar Defense
Over time, many of the Solar Exalted gain addicted to the freedom - and power - granted by their Limit Break Condition. When invoked, this Charm allows a Solar to purposely invoke a Limit Break over which he cannot exercise partial control. This is a normal Limit Break in all other ways, allowing the Solar to regain Willpower and gain the benefit of Stubborn Boar Defense. After this Limit Break subsides, the Solar must make an Essence roll and gains one Limit per success. If he rolls five or more successes, the Solar instead gains one point of Permanent Limit (max 5), or immediately falls into a normal Limit Break. Every time the Solar uses this Charm imposes a one die bonus to the above Essence roll the next time the Solar uses this charm. This bonus is cumulative with multiple uses of the charm, but fades entirely after one week without suffering a Limit Break.
Commentary: A very very nasty charm, but given it's prerequisite, a very powerful one that provides more or less complete and total immunity to social attacks. The drawback at the end should prove to balance it, though, if the whole "limit break" thing isn't control enough. Still, Stubborn Boar demanded something like this.
Mirror Charms
- Epic Zeal of (Virtue) (Mins: Integrity 4, Essence 2; Prerequisite Charms: Any Integrity Excellency; Infernals, p. 132) alters the expression of one of the Solar's virtue to something more encompassing, and enhances it such that the Solar gains one channel per day at sunrise and automatically converts any Virtue dice rolled into automatic successes rather they be a Limit roll, a straight Virtue roll or bonus dice from a Channel.
Solar Charm Cascade Errata (Integrity)
- Stubborn Boar Defense (page 199). A second purchase of this Charm also allows the Solar to, optionally, treat all directives gained from natural mental influence as an unacceptable orders while in Limit Break. The Solar decides rather or not to so defend himself when he falls into Limit Break.
- Integrity-Protecting Prana (page 199) doesn't protect against Environmental effects created by Shaping effects, unless no roll is allowed to resist the effects, such as a sheet of immaterial shards that damages ones soul rather than ones body. For other Environmental effects, use a Perfect Defense or Element-Resisting Prana or simply make the provided resistance roll.
- Temptation-Resisting Stance (page 200) changes its duration to One Day. The Charm adds (Temperance x 2) dice to your Dodge MDV pool, subject to normal dice pool limitations imposed by Charms. If a single application doesn't already put you at your dice cap, the effects of multiple invocations stack.
- Elusive Dream Defense (page 200), for clarification, does not require any committed Essence.
- Sun King Radiance (page 201) also has no effect on Infernal Exalted.
