Shining Ones are feared beyond anything else by the Ghosts and Wisps that mention them, but details are few. No spirit will speak of these things, no matter the threats or magics used to make them talk, and no information has ever been gleaned by those that yet live. Nor has any Medium ever seen one, though some have witnessed their works -- either in their aftermath, or simply as an indescribable force of great power. What exactly draws the attention of the Shining Ones is unclear, but Wisps seem to fear them more than other spirits.
The Ferryman seems to the guardian or gatekeeper into the Underworld, feared by ghosts that escaped that realm and those not eager to see it. Far more powerful than any wisp, when the Ferryman comes for you, there is no escape. You either run, or you submit. Some ghosts he takes with him, into the Far Shores, while others he cuts down. The motives of this dark figure are unfathomable, and most hope only to avoid his notice.
Cerberus might be recognized as the three-headed dog said to guard the entrance to the Underworld in Greek Myth, but to those Ghosts that know of him, he isn't a guardian or a dog at all. A great wolf, constantly stalking, Cerberus kills any spirit or human that dares make contact between the two worlds. Life is life, death is death, never should the two meet. Powerful, merciless, utterly unstoppable - all these things are said about the horrible Cerberus.
