Osseous Mastery - by Telgar

Created by Matron Constancia to forward her experiments with the remains of the dead; this Path is much like certain powers of Mortis and may be drawn from them. The zombies created with this path are much more durable and longer lasting then the Zombu created with Mortis. Those who use this Path are mostly younger Sorcerers, unable to master the higher powers of Mortis that this Path is created from.

1 - Marionette of Flesh - With this power the sorcerer can cause the bodies of the dead to react in small ways. To move an arm or shudder, or simply open their eyes. Those who are unprepared for the spasmodic movements of the corpse may be, at the very least, un-nerved.

System: The sorcerer must expend a bloodpoint and roll Dexterity + Occult (diff 6). The more successes are achieved, the more complex the action of the target corpse. Generally assume one success is one small movement the corpse can perform. Under no circumstances can this power cause a corpse to do harm.

2 - Lesser Zombie - The Sorcerer may control dead plants and small animals by infusing them with her own vital energies. While zombie squirrels won’t do much, they are disconcerting. And controlling grass or vines to trip your enemies is very useful.

System: Spend two bloodpoints and roll Manipulation + Occult (diff. 8). Each success is one target that this power may affect. All targets must be within the sorcerer’s sight and the power stops affecting them if they leave. Use normal stats for re-animated creatures, but add two Bruised Health levels. Reanimated animals take no wound penalties.

3 - Servant of Bones - By infusing a corpse with his own life-energy the sorcerer can cause it to come alive for the duration of a single task. The body can be used to haul objects, dig, or patrol the sorcerer’s haven. A zombie so animated is not able to attack others or defend itself, it will just keep trying to do its job until it is destroyed by fire or dismemberment. Once the set task is finished the corpse will simply collapse and start to rapidly decay.

System: The player rolls Wits + Occult (diff 7) A point of willpower must be spent to animate the corpse. The sorcerer has to tell the zombie it’s task. If it is something like patrolling that has no definite end, the sorcerer must give an amount of time that may not exceed one full day.

4 - Knights of Death - A step up from Servant of Bones, the corpses created with this power can attack. Like the Zombu created with Vigor Mortis or Animate Host, these zombies will survive for only three nights.

System: The player rolls Wits + Occult (diff 8). The number of corpses that may be animated is equal to the number of successes on the roll. A point of blood must be feed to each corpse, and a point of willpower must be spent to finish the animation for the horde. The sorcerer has to tell the zombies their task in just a few words for they lack initiative. They can be told to guard a location or simply to “kill them!”. The life span of these zombies can be up to a week, but no more.

5 - Multitude of Servants – A variation of the Mortis power, Animate Host, Multitude of Servants allows for the Sorcerer to call up a number of revived corpses for whatever purpose he desires. These zombies can attack and do harm.

System: The player rolls Wits + Occult (diff 7). The number of corpses that may be animated is equal to the number of successes on the roll. A point of blood must be feed to each corpse. The sorcerer has to tell the zombies their task. If the task is something like patrolling that has no definite end, the sorcerer must give an amount of time that may not exceed eight days.
