Utilizing a small quantity of proto-matter (the reality-bending material unique to Flux Space), the Flux Space Capacitor folds time back in on itself in a roughly three-second loop, giving Kafka access to her sensory feed from from the future. Processing this information, particularly while also trying to pay attention to the present, is extremely difficult, but it does allow Kafka to anticipate major events just before she would normally become aware of them.
The Flux Space Capacitor allows Kafka to add her Perception to the normal Wits+Awareness roll when checking for surprise, and grants a permanent +3 bonus to her Initiative score. In addition, Kafka may spend 3 Quantum and 1 Willpower to double her Initiative total (after adding the outcome of the Initiative die). In the scene following a use of this effect, Kafka's Initiative rating is halved as she struggles to reintegrate her perceptions with present events.
