- Leo, Clinton and Dr. Hyde engaged the rotten monster in battle.

- The creature tried to drain Leo's blood, but only succeeded in biting his face, puncturing an eye and chewing through his face to eat part of his tongue.

- A combination of fangs, fists and knives finally subdued the rotten creature.
⚠ </br>
- The creature was revealed to be a young woman, probably from the middle or upper class judging by the remains of her clothing.

- The policeman she had attacked was dead, so Leo drained the last of his blood to heal.
⚠ </br>
- Dr. Hyde checked on the female victim and found her alive, but badly wounded.
⚠ </br>
- Clinton fed the victim some blood, which stabilized her condition, and delivered her to the hospital.

- At the hospital, Clinton left his card and name so he would be recognized as the woman's rescuer later.

- Meanwhile, Leo and Dr. Hyde disposed of the dead policeman's body in the river and tied up the rotten woman.

- With the rotten woman being a total mystery to both of them, Leo and Dr. Hyde opted to take her to Kendra Delacroix.

- Kendra agreed to inspect the rotten woman in the loading area behind her shop, but she was also mystified as to the creature's nature.

- Despite her lack of answers, Kendra did offer to check Leo's blood for signs of corruption, but was turned down.

- The next evening, all three vampires went to the hospital to speak with the young woman survivor.
⚠ </br>
- Evening newspapers had a front-page story about the woman who survived a "monster" attack at the docks, reported by Rex Murphy.

- The young woman was revealed to be Eliza Ingles, daughter of shopping market magnate Patrick Ingles.
⚠ </br>
- Clinton was allowed into Miss Ingles' room, but her doctor steadfastly refused to allow visitors.
⚠ </br>
- Unable to overcome the doctor's resistance to visitors, the three made an appointment for eight days later.
⚠ </br>
- Having hit a temporary dead end with Miss Ingles, the three decided to return to the docks.
⚠ </br>
- After a few hours of investigation, the trio discovered a large, watery trail leading to an abandoned warehouse.
⚠ </br>
- In the warehouse, Dr. Hyde fell through a weakened board, nearly landing in the basement.
⚠ </br>
- Using the distraction, another rotten creature below pulled Dr. Hyde into the basement.
⚠ </br>
- Meanwhile, a second rotten creature attacked Clinton from above.
⚠ </br>
- A brief but violent struggle ensued, with Leo once again taking considerable damage in the fight.
⚠ </br>
- The two creatures were both subdued, accounting for all the 'disappeared' victims Rex Murphy was concerned about.
