Unarmed Combat and Spacers: Many Spacers are quite skilled in unarmed combat, which has a definite niche amongst Spacer culture, due to the risk of heavy weapons fire damaging irreplaceable equipment needed to survive in Space or actually puncturing the bulkhead of a Spaceship or Orbital Station. Spacer Culture, thus, also includes a large number of armed and unarmed Martial Arts styles.
Force Screens: Close Combat is also an effective counter against most commonly available Force Screens; if you get in within the diameter of the screen, you're able to bypass its protection, but within such close distances skills such as Judo and Wrestling tend to be more effective than Guns (Rifle).
