Captain Oteki wanders past in what may very well be a drunken, swaying manner, and flumps down on a conveniently placed pallet. "Y'know, ye'll plan an' plan, an' everything'll be put through a committee of judges, an' then ye'll just end up burstin' in an' murderin' everybody who stands in yer way anyway. So why not skip the middle bit?"

Corve shrugs. "Prob'ly. But that doesn't me--" He looks over at Oteki, and then juts his finger at the pirate, looking back at Xar. "What he said."

Xar`Rex sighs.

Xar`Rex "Our plan at the temple worked to get us in, last time."

Corve "Yeah. But we ended up having to shoot our way out anyways. For the most part. I ain't saying we shouuldn't have a plan; but we don't know what it's lookin' like right now. So."

Myrrh "We need to scout our way in carefuly. I don't know about you but the last time we fought a giant monster we would up running through a few miles of intestine."

Xar`Rex "Yes, what Myrrh said."

Captain Oteki points at Myrrh lazily. "I ain't goin' with ye if there be intestines involved."

Carmine "...Intestines?" Carmine queries as she steps out on deck

Corve snickers at Oteki, "Wuss. But yes. Scouting would probably be the best course of action." And likely his job. It's what he's good at. He glances over to Carmine and smiles.

Carmine smiles back and moves over to the barrel he's sitting on. "Perhaps we can find some cultists and ask them questions."

Xar`Rex "Yes, that is a good idea too." He smiles.

Xar`Rex considers thoughtfully. "Perhaps some of the gods in the area will know more as well."

Corve "Especially now that people can't lie to me if I don't want them to." He smirks at his fellows, and wipeas the rifle one more time before setting it aside and sliding his hand around Carmine's waist affectionately. "Scouting. Interrogation. It's standard. But I doubt we'll make it past anything significant without being discovered. These people know we're coming. Especially since our one-eyed friend ain't returned."

Myrrh "I don't think they just wear a badge of office..." Looks a little bleary eyed. he'd been up all night with some of the soulsteel artifacts.

Xar`Rex "A distraction then?"

Captain Oteki proceeds to lie around "walking" a jade coin along his knuckles. "Then here's th'plan. I steer th'Omen in th'direction o'where we be goin'. We find ourselves some likely candidates for th'acquisition o'further information. We take what we can get from 'em. THEN we decide to burst in an' murder everyone who stands in th'way o'yer mission. An' when we're done, I plunder th'remains."

Xar`Rex "We will divide the plunder among us." He eyes Oteki.

Corve snorts, "If there's anything left." They don't exactly have a track record for leaving things intact in their wake.

Captain Oteki smirks. "Well, o'course we will, lad. I just happen t'be more experienced than th'rest o'ye at th'actual plunderin' part."

Myrrh "Oteki I need to speak to you about those swords. I've been working on the soulsteel problem. I figure if it might help Carmine...and even if not if I can figure out a way to release the souls inside..."

Xar`Rex "Hm, plunder. What happened to Falling Darkness and Hunter's things?"

Myrrh "Er...I've been conducting a few experiments on them. Stygian steel isn't really as resilent as I had thought to tell you the truth."

Captain Oteki shrugs at Myrhh. "Ye can be havin' em, if ye wants em. I ain't needin' 'em now that I gots me own blade back. Though I am a slight bit interested in th'bracelet an' necklace our friend Failing Dorkness were wearin'."

Myrrh "Xeth, do you know anything about Soulsteel? I would have thought there would atleast be a god of it. I know you're into the precious materials social circle."

Xar`Rex folds his arms carelessly, lifting one clawed finger to his lips. "Hm... no I do not believe so. It is not a natural metal. If there are any gods of it they would be twisted, and not part of Yu Shan. Unless things have changed more than I realized."

Captain Oteki flicks the coin into the air, and catches it. "I know I ain't never met one."

Myrrh "Hm. That's not good. I doubt I can just ask Mask of Winters politely..."

Captain Oteki laughs. "Ye could try. But then, I like ye, so I might be feelin' just a little bit o'remorse when I go about plunderin' yer corpse after ye're done tryin'."

Xar`Rex flicks his gaze towards Oteki and smiles slightly. "No, Myrrh. Not if you value your lives. Unless you have something to trade for the information."

Corve snickers, "Or we could just take on Mask of Winters." He's kidding! Really. Sorta.

Carmine "...Maybe after we deal with the shadow serpent"

Xar`Rex "I wonder if we will be seeing Hunter again."

Myrrh "Well someone has to know what's happening to poor Carmine. This is all part of it...Hm. Hunter? I'm suprised he got out of his bindings. He only had one arm..."

Xar`Rex grins. "His other arm was crunchy."

Captain Oteki "An' a good source o'calcium an' iron."

Myrrh "Well I doubt you're going to get a second chance. Then again I'm not too sure on their physiology..."

Corve grins at Xar, and then nods slowly. "First things first." And first is stopping the Shadow Serpent. And second is helping Carmine. Because if they don't stop the Serpent, there may be no worled for her to live on if they help her out, anyway.

Myrrh "So how are we going to scout out the cult? I'm sure they all have us recognized by now."

Captain Oteki "'cept me."

Xar`Rex "Hm, true."

Xar`Rex "And you are good at sneaking around." He tilts the phrase as a question.

Myrrh "True...although they might ask questions about how you're dressed in Falling darknesses things."

Corve "I can probably sneak by." That's what he's actually good at, technically.

Captain Oteki smiles idly. "An' even if they did know somethin' about me, it'd likely all be lies an' treachery anyway."

Captain Oteki quirks an eyebrow. "That be true. I ain't certain o'what I'd be sayin' if someone were to ask "So, where did ye get that there eyepatch, hm?"

Captain Oteki "

Captain Oteki "It ain't like I can just say "Oh, I got it at th'evil eye-chompin' eyepatch store."

Xar`Rex laughs.

Myrrh "Just take it off and I'm sure carmine can heal your eye and then after all this you can maim yourself again if you like."

Captain Oteki "I ain't certain that givin' up th'ability to eye both th'real world an' th'underworld be a good idea when one considers where we're headin'."

Corve "I doubt you'll be able to see the living world from the U Nderworld?, eyepatch or no."

Captain Oteki "We'll see."

Myrrh "Or we won't, considering.

Carmine "I wonder if there is a cult in Gem..."

Myrrh "I don't know. You'd think the constant brutal rule would make it hard for them to take root..."

Carmine "What if they made promises of freedom?"

Myrrh "I'm not sure. They easily got Ugly Tree a nice deal after all."

Corve "Yeah. And that deal got him into your wife's bed." He's told Myrrh about this; though he never inquired as to Myrrh's feelings about it.

Myrrh "Well I wouldn't always consider that a blessing Corve." Grins and thinks for a moment. "Maybe we should ask the local watch. Assuming of course they aren't involved. Maybe Oteki should stay here and out of sight if he's going to try and infiltrate."

Corve "That might be for the best, yes."

Xar`Rex "Hmm. I cannot walk among them without being noticed."

Myrrh "Well then I guess you and I can go ask around."
