Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Cathedral

This massive edifice, built in 1905, is the seat of the Catholic archdiocese of Detroit. Cardinal Adam
Maida oversees the welcoming of new Catholics, ordains new priests and deacons, administers the
sacrament of confirmation, and celebrates the Chrism Mass as well as the liturgies of the Sacred
Triduum. Special masses are also celebrated at the cathedral each year for groups such as
school children, police officers and those preparing for the sacrament of marriage.

Blessed Sacrament Cathedral is one of the most architecturally significant of Detroit's Neo-Gothic
churches of the early twentieth century. The symmetrical facade is composed of a central entrance
surmounted by a large, traceried, rose window and a pierced parapet screen incorporating life-sized
saints' statues in Gothic niches. In recent years, the building has shown signs of age, but a
national fundraising campaign is underway to finance the remodeling work scheduled to begin in 2000.

In the early morning hours, an eccentric congregation gathers on certain nights for decidedly
unorthodox meetings. These gatherings of the Malkavian clan are seldom attended by outsiders,
and few other kindred care to visit the church in any case. Terrible things have happened to
trespassers here.

The Cathedral is where the Malkavians hang out and as such bad stuff happens there. Ok, next!
