- Backstory: Any backstory must a) line up with all the best interests, not vice versa, and b) meet the approval of EVERYONE at the table. (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=25140.0)
- Far-Reaching: A Far-Reaching Strength allows you to participate in conflicts that a character without that Strength would not be able to participate in. It has reach! The book gives Exorcism as an example: I can participate in conflicts where a demon is attempting to possess a third party, where a normal person (arguably, depending on your group) couldn't! A mundane example might be Spy Network -- if you get in a street fight, I can get involved in that conflict by declaring some of the people in it to be my spies, even though I might not even be there. Without a Spy Network, I couldn't do that. (In fact, even if I had a Spy Network that wasn't Far-Reaching, because it was Broad or something, I still couldn't do that, because a Strength that is not Far-Reaching does not provide that justification for involvement in conflicts.) - Repeating Conflicts: I can repeat the same action I took to start a conflict over and over, win or lose, until I give up, I get what I want (through negotiation), or one of us is out of the chapter. (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=25549.0)
- Advantage Dice: There are two types of advantage dice: Won Dice and Bought Dice. Bought Dice are bought by striking a name off the Owe List, come into play immediately, and last for the entire conflict. Won Dice are won by winning a conflict without doubling your opponent. They come into play at the beginning of the next round and last for the entirety of that round, even if you lose a conflict during that round! You can have one Won Die and one Bought Die, but no more of either. (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=25533.0, http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=25564.0)
- Actions and Consequences: In IAWA, players declare actions, and then negotiate the consequences. If you're pushing for a consequence that I don't like, I always have the option to be exhausted or injured instead. (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=25537.0)
