Wood Dragon Style, revised

The most mysterious of the Immaculate Styles, Wood Dragon Style has Bows as its favored weapon and treats them as unarmed attacks for the purposes of all attacks. Dragon-Blooded who practice Wood Dragon Style add +2 to the damage of all arrows.

Wood Dragon Style

  • Eyes of the Wood Dragon is the weakness-spotting charm; the duration is changed to Five Turns. The characters attacks during that period inflict an amount of lethal damage equal to the Dragon-Blooded's Martial Arts rating, as a separate source of damage. This damage can be soaked normally, down to 1 die, regardless of the Immaculate's Essence rating.
  • Mind-Over-Body Meditation is the bashing-healing charm; it is unchanged.
  • Wood Dragon Vitality is the soak boosting charm; it's type is changed to Reflexive.
  • Soul-Marking Strike is the soul-tagging charm; it is unchanged.
  • Wood Dragon Form is the Form-charm; it is unchanged.
  • Unbreakable Fascination Kata has been revised; see below.
  • Enthralling Blow Attack has been revised; see below.
  • Spirit-Wrack Method is the spirit-disrupting charm; reduce its cost to 4 motes. A successful hit inflicts normal damage, and allows the character to roll his Martial Arts + Essence + Successes from the Attack roll against a difficulty of the Spirit's essence. Each success inflicts a -1 penality that fades at a rate of one die per turn.
  • Spirit-Rending Technique has been revised; see below.
  • Death-Pattern Sensing Attitude is the persistent dodge charm; raise its cost to 6 motes, 1 willpower + 2 motes per turn. It's duration is changed to Varies. When invoked, the charm allows the Dragon-Blooded to parry all attacks against her after the charm was invoked with her full Dexterity + Dodge pool. The character may keep the charm active for 2 motes per turn as a reflexive action. If the character ever ceases to pay this upkeep cost, the charm immediately ends.
  • Wood Dragon Succor is the damage-absorption charm; it is unchanged.
  • Soul Mastery is the soul-destroying ultimate attack; its duration is changed to Instant. The Immaculate may hold the charge on his hand for up to an entire scene, and it discharges upon any successful Martial Arts attack. If the Immaculate has not discharged Soul Mastery by the end of the scene then the effect rebounds as described in the text.

Revised Charms
Unbreakable Fascination Kata

  Cost: 4 motes
  Duration: Until Abandoned
  Type: Simple
  Minimum Martial Arts: 4
  Minimum Essence: 3
  Prerequisite Charms: Wood Dragon Form

The Immaculate executes a series of elaborate and almost hypnotic Katas, his anima lightly flaring and billowing in intoxicating patterns. All those watching this display find it oddly distracting, and suffer a -1 penality to all rolls. However, the Immaculate may specifically target up to his Essence rating in individiuals with this charm. Those who are targeted find the display completely overpowering, often standing rooted in spot, all their attention on the Martial Artist. A target must be able to clearly see the Immaculate performing this charm to be affected by it.

When first invoking this charm, the Immaculate makes a Charisma + Martial Arts roll. This roll is not an attack, and cannot be boosted by charms or effects that boost Martial Arts attacks. Anyone specfically targeted with this charm who wishes to take an action other than standing rapt in awe must make a Wits + Essence roll, with a difficulty equal to the number of successes the Immaculate achieved on the roll. While maintaining this charm, the Immaculate can only move at half his normal movement rate, speak, and dodge. Any other action, especially an attack, instantly breaks the effect.

Enthralling Blow Attack

  Cost: 8 motes, 1 willpower
  Duration: Instant
  Type: Simple
  Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  Minimum Essence: 3
  Prerequisite Charms: Unbreakable Fascination Kata

The Immaculate using this charm must succeed in a normal Martial Arts attack against his opponent, and then instead of rolling damage the Immaculate's player makes a Martial Arts + Essence roll. The target makes a reflexive willpower roll, which has a difficulty equal to the successes the Immaculate gained on the above roll. If the targets roll fails, he is enthralled and loses any action for the rest of the turn -- he simply stands there, slack-jawed and vacant eyed. The target may attempt to shake off the effects of this charm every turn, with the difficulty for the Willpower roll dropping by one every turn.

Spirit-Rending Technique

  Cost: 7 motes, 1 willpower
  Duration: Instant
  Type: Simple
  Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  Minimum Essence: 3
  Prerequisite Charms: Spirit-Wracking Method

The Immaculate's command over the points of weakness and dispersion in the immaterial spirits, ghosts, demons and other such beings grows potent enough to accomplish much more than simple disruption. A well aimed strike can, instead, rip the Immaculates target apart with its own internal Esssence flows. The Martial Artist must make a normal martial arts attack, either armed or unarmed, but does no actual damage. The character instead rolls Essence + Willpower + the number of successes on the attack roll, comparing the result to the spirits Essence rating. Every multiple of the spirits Essence that the character achieves inflicts an amount of automatic unsokable aggravated damage equal to the Immaculates Essence rating. If the successes on the roll do not exceed the spirit's Essence, then this charm has no effect.

'For Example: Soft Blossom chooses to make an example of her fight with Talia, a weak nature spirit. She stirkes Talia, and her player rolls four successes on her attack roll and 10 successes on her Willpower + Essence + successes roll. Talia is a weak spirit with only Essence 3, while Soft Blossom has an Essence of 4. The spirit thus takes 12 unsokable levels of aggravated damage.
