NOTES

She stole the gift using a ritual she found in a book (in her Russian father's stuff) which summoned a fairy called Pox. She then tricked Pox with a promise into a trap (a gossamer net), and after a small incataion, got a piece of Pox's soul. But she didn't know that was what she was getting, and Pox has sworn vengeance in Ping's troubled dreams....

After doing the ritual, Ping moved. This is her first year at this high school.

Ping's parents: "her father being a stout Russian alcoholic and her mother a fine Chinese lady with a poor attitude."
