Cosmic Weapons

When an ordinary weapon is used in an attack that fails to penetrate auctoritas, it shatters, even if it is made of the finest mortal materials, because it is the weakest link in the "unstoppable force vs. impenetrable barrier" situation.

Powers don't generally like this to happen. For this reason, they have created weapons which are empowered by the fundamental forces of the universe. As a class, these weapons are called cosmic weapons. Forging such a weapon is a simple rite, and requires a level 7 miracle of spirit. They do not break when they encounter an auctoritas, but are merely stopped.

Unblemished Weapon
A weapon which was forged in heaven is flawless in form, always perfectly balanced, and completely immune to rust, breakage, or any other form of degradation. Such a weapon will last until Heaven itself falls. Blood and gore does not stick to it, and poison applied to it loses its efficacy.
Degenerate Weapon
A weapon forged in hell is twisted and deformed, and often bears a thick layer of corrosion. They usually appear crudely made, and are invariably ugly. Most drip acid or venom, and as such are one category more deadly than they would ordinarily be, even to Nobilis.
Pernicious Weapon
A weapon forged on Earth, using human bones to fuel the furnace, and quenched in human blood, becomes black as night. Its slightest touch is death to mortal men. In contrast to Degenerate weapons, Pernicious weapons tend to have an elegantly sinister appearance.
Sentinel Weapon
A weapon forged on Earth, under the open sky, heated (using mirrors and/or lenses) using only the light of the sun glows with a light that banishes all shadows. It is as if the light penetrates through objects to illuminate the area behind them, regardless of otherwise pertaining light conditions.
Wyrmfang
Occasionally, an Aaron's Serpent will consent to allow one of its teeth to be used to forge a weapon. The result is usually something like an ivory scimitar. One cannot become lost or disoriented among the branches and leaves of the World Ash while carrying one of these.
Maelstrom Weapon
This is the most difficult of all the cosmic weapons to forge. It appears to be a piece of the Weirding Wall bound into the shape of a weapon. While it can be carried and wielded normally, it is more like energy than matter, flashing and pulsing with all the colors of the rainbow. Creating one involves journeying to the outermost branches of the World Ash, and negotiating with the strange wardens of the Weirding Wall that are found there. It is said that one of these will always guide its wielder back to the World Ash while in the Lands Beyond.

Because of their connection to Spiritus Dei, cosmic weapons are not part of any Domain. Any blade except an Unblemished weapon can be broken, but only as a level-7 Aspect miracle.
