When the Father of Darkness invaded the city of Chiaroscuro, many of the people died in the initial attacks or in the dark days afters. Others fled along the sea or the roads, heading to Paragon or (less auspiciously, as it turned out) to Yane. Some, however, rode out onto the Dunes and rejoined their ancestral kin.
The Delzahn tribes have grown threefold since the fall of the City of Glass, even counting those refugees that perished in the desert or were rejected by their nomadic cousins. Some of the tribes harried the Deathlord, launching spoiling raids on his minor outposts and what section of his forces they could discover. Most, however, forsook the civilized life and instead have lived as they always have. Many of these tribes are peaceful herders and nomads, while others engage in brutal raiding of weaker targets to maintain their way of life.
In general, those Delzahn that have left to join the tribes are happy with their choices and many of them have forgotten why they ever stayed in the city in the first place. It only blinded them with greed and softness, leaving them ripe fruit to be easily plucked by the Father of Darkness. The defeat also left the Tri-Khan largely powerless among his people, and in the power vacuum a number of potent orkhan's rose to prominence.
Then the Father of Darkness was destroyed, and the Realm launched an attack to liberate the people of the City of Glass. This event was barely regarded among the nomadic Delzahn, and even fewer pay any attention to the "Tri-Khan" that the Realm installed as the ruler of the city as he lacks any claim to Nobility or the proper bloodlines. It remains to be seen exactly what will become of the Delzahn, but one thing is certain:
Their tale is not yet finished.
