- Zahara is in her workshop once again, making yet more copies of the Jade collars for the upcoming war effort. She had spent a bit of time on the current ones making sure the hinges were able to stay open until impact in the center of the circle, at which time they would snap shut quite efficiently. She occasionally checks the timepiece on the wall, to see if Cerin should have come home by now, or not. After a while, she sends out a she sends out a questioning need through the Unity to him
- Cerin sends back a brief feeling of love, and several floors below, sets down his quill in his study, quickly tidies his papers, checks his hair, then sets off up through the cascade after reseting the wards on the doors. He is so very quiet that the first Zahara knows of him are his lips on her neck and a low murmur "You wanted to see me, love?"
- Zahara snaps a hinge she'd been piecing together, startled. "Cerin!" she takes a breath, "You could allow ONE footstep to betray your presence before you scare the life out of me, dear, couldn't you?"
- Cerin laughs softly and kisses her neck again "Next time I'll give you a footstep."
- Zahara smiles, turning to face him, "You're too sweet." she kisses him, then pauses measuringly. She cups his chin in her hand and turns his head this way and that a bit. "My, my, what have you been drinking?"
- Cerin lets her tilt his his head how she likes, his hair shimmering slightly in the light of the workshop "Drinking?"
<Zahara> "You look amazing. What's your secret?"
<Cerin> "Not telling." he says with another amused laugh, "You took longer to notice than Birds.."
<Zahara> "You didn't start out your encounter with Birds by sneaking in and kissing her on the back of the neck, did you?" she asks archly
- Cerin holds his silence for a while, eyes and hair still twinkling, before he shakes his head "No, I didn't, you're right."
- Zahara smiles, running her fingers through his hair, "Well, then, I approve."
- Cerin smiles as her fingers run through his hair, obviously enjoying the sensation "I just started to pay attention to it again."
<Zahara> "You should give me lessons.. your hair is prettier than mine now!" she chuckles
- Cerin laughs, deeply amused and kisses her again "I'm not so sure about that. But, I know you didn't want to see me just for my looks...did you?" he tilts his head
<Zahara> "Actually.. I missed you. My fingers are getting sore from all this delicate work," she pouts cutely, holding up her slightly pink fingertips
<Cerin> "We ... can't ... have ... that ... can ... we?" each pause him planting a kiss on one of her finger tips.
- Zahara smiles, "No, it would be a terrible thing." she repays each kiss, on Cerin's newly-softer skin. "Did you miss me, too?" she asks, moving toward the couch she had placed there, after one too many long nights.
- Zahara is now known as Schuyler
- Cerin sits and draws her down onto his lap "Always."
Some time later...
- Zahara stretches and smiles at Cerin, "I'm glad you're back. How did your trip go, anyway?"
<Cerin> "Not as well as I hoped." he sighs softly "Ssithumi knew nothing of the blade, could tell me little about Ymir's last days I had not already deduced, and the Fa'la'tarena would seem to have passed beyond the boarders of Creation..."
- Zahara frowns a little, "Well, was it worth the trip at all?"
A short discussion on the trip
<Zahara> "Hmm, well there will be other trips."
- Cerin nods "That's true. Hopefully the others will be more successful."
<Zahara> "In the meantime, I have been preparing for our upcoming war. I was hoping to capture more Dynasts to get information from them, possibly through the Gate, so I made several more collars.
- Cerin smiles "That is a very good plan, love."
- Zahara smiles, "I have another good plan, that I need your help with."
<Cerin> "mm, tell me more?"
<Zahara> "Do you remember the day you first declared your love for me?"
- Cerin just nods. He doesnt have to say anything more.
- Zahara toys with a strand of her long blonde hair, "I would have you do it again, and me to you, to make a cloth of True Love before Berengiere which will armor us against the coming darkness."
<Cerin> "Of course, my heart. I would gladly do that for you."
- Zahara leans forward, kissing him once more, and running her fingers through his silky hair, "I'm glad I found you."
<Zahara> "Are you tired, or should we do it now?"
- Cerin happily returns the kiss "I'm glad you did too." he considers "I thought the ritual had to be started at sunset..It isnt that late already is it?"
<Zahara> "I haven't a clue, I've been holed up down here for days."
<Cerin> "Well, I know it was morning when I went to see Birds.."
<Zahara> "Hmmm then we'll have to wait a bit." She looks into his eyes speculatively for a long moment. "You've changed in more ways than simply external, I think."
<Cerin> "...Of course, you know that, probably better than me." As he watches the strands of her essence fade to nothing after they barred his soul to her.
<Zahara> "What was it that brought on your new desires?"
<Cerin> "Thinking. About the future. I think." Cerin is fairly agitated inside, though he is trying to keep it from his face.
- Zahara nods, "The Sunlands are a big responsibility."
- Cerin nods "They are."
<Zahara> "Are you willing to stay here for the rest of your life to rule them, or will you wander?"
<Cerin> "...I don't know." He whispers. Looking at her with a pained expression.
- Zahara touches his shoulder reassuringly, "You don't have to stay here forever. Just never betray the Sunlands, and you may wander as you wish."
<Cerin> "I would never betray the Sunlands, for that would be betraying you." he is still whispering "And I never want to be far from your side. But..."
<Zahara> "We live a long time, Cerin. I could ask you to stay for fifty years, but never hundreds. I'm sure I will tire of being in the same place eventually, too."
<Cerin> "Thank you." He says, relaxing a little.
- Zahara smiles, "You're welcome, love."
- Cerin runs his hands through her hair gently, pressing himself close to her.
- Zahara wraps her arms around him, leaning her head against his shoulder, well content now that she has eased his mind.
