Cost: 20 motes
Target: 10 square foot arch
This spell instantly breaches a hole in a wall or other obstruction, cutting a large keystone archway some 10-foot square to the other side of the barrier. This is a simple stable archway if possible, but the spell can carve a tunnel up to (Essence x 5) yards long if necessary to breach particularly thick barriers, creating another archway at the other end of the barrier. Tunnels created with this spell are quite stable in the short term, but usually cave in within a few years. It is possible, however, to utilize this spell such as to destablize an existing structure and cause it to collapse.
The caster can use this spell more than once to carve even longer tunnels, eventually creating a crude rough-walled tunnel through nearly any barrier. This spell fails, however, if used on materials warded against sorcerey and most works of First Age construction. It is also particularly weak against stone cut from the Imperial Mountain, only able to cut an archway through particularly thin walls of stone.
