⚠ </br> Gloria Goldberg | A successful thriller author who sells her stories to serials and small publishers under a number of pseudonyms. She enjoys thin cigarettes and often lounges at Velma's Diner, where she is well-acquainted with many of the staff, and Velma herself. |
⚠ </br> Dr. Herman West | One of the resident psychologists at the Arkham Asylum. Dr. West studies hallucinations & paranoia, with remarkable success. He focuses on hypnotic suggestion as his mode of therapy, and has several well-remarked upon success stories. Until her disappearance, Dr. West and Ms. Maplecroft were at odds over several issues regarding territory and other, more clandestine, things. |
⚠ </br> William Whateley | Mr. Whateley is a wealthy aristocrat from an old money family. He owns significant shares in the Arkham Citizens' Bank and, supposedly, owns significant shares in several local politicians. Mr. Whateley handled the finances for Ms. Maplecroft, but there's a rumor she was withdrawing her funds from the Bank before she vanished. |
⚠ </br> Marie Laveau | The headlining jazz singer at Hibb's Roadhouse, Marie speaks with a New Orleans accent and often converses with Kendra Delacroix in fluent French. She is rumored to own a pet snake, and feed troublesome people to it on moonlit nights. Marie remains mostly apart from the other Elders, but interacts freely with the younger night crowd and her fans. |
⚠ </br> Lizbeth A. B. Maplecroft | Formerly the Eldest vampire of Arkham, Ms. Maplecroft has not been seen in two weeks. Her home, a 1890s manor house on the edge of town, has been abandoned, even by the staff. |
⚠ </br> Dexter Drake | Stage magician at the Empire Theatre on the Northside. His magic show is quite impressive; "The Great Drake" is hugely popular among the wealthy socialites of Arkham, especially after the show, in his private dressing room. He's rumored to be spectacularly skilled at pulling all manner of things out of expensive clothing. There are some very scandalous rumors surrounding his nocturnal activities. |
⚠ </br> Dr. Kate Winthrop | A tenured research scientist at the Miskatonic University, studying local history and folklore. She is considered quite vulgar for her obvious interest in pagan superstition and, rumor says, may even believe some of the nonsense spouted by local savages on the Reservations. Dr. Winthrop spends a great deal of time in the field, and works at the university during the night, or deep in the sub-basement archives. |
⚠ </br> Mandy Thompson | Archivist at the Arkham Public Library in Southside. Miss Thompson is a huge fan of Gloria Goldberg's work, and has tried her own hand at writing, but not been well received as yet. |
⚠ </br> Diana Stanley | The newest member of the Order of the Silver Twilight is terribly excited to have been accepted into the Order, and takes everything a bit too seriously, which is the worst thing a member of a secret society can do. As a result of the various gossips watching her, the identity of several other members of the Order has been made fairly public. She's in a bit of hot water about that, but determined to prove herself. She has quite an inheritance from her extremely deceased parents, and spends it recklessly. Mr. Whateley has taken an interest in her of late. |
⚠ </br> Skids O'Toole | A local fence & confidence man, Skids works out of a storefront in Rivertown. He claims to operate a bakery, but everyone knows he buys bread from the grocery store down the street and re-sells it. His real business all happens after dark, when he takes over the shop from his assistants. He's quite well known by the various scofflaws and smugglers around town. |
⚠ </br> Kendra Delacroix | Owner of the Curiosity Shoppe in Northside and close confidant of Marie Lambeau. Mlle Delacroix is an immigrant from Haiti, fleeing the revolts and unease in the troubled country. She has many contacts in the Caribbean and Central America, and a few more in Africa and Europe. The luxury goods she imports and the expensive art she exports has lead to some minor disagreements with the gangsters that control the dock yards. |
