- Returning to the Silver Twilight Lodge after recovering from the Red Fear proved fruitless. There was no sign of Clinton at all.
- With their friend missing, Danny, Dr. Hyde and Leo decided to question the creatures that had sent them on their errand to the Lodge in the first place
- They went to the graveyard where the subway system's construction had stopped, planning to question the creatures regarding some suspicions about Clinton's meeting with them
- A plan was hatched that Dr. Hyde would reanimate parts of a body in the graveyard to scout out the area in order to locate the creatures.
- The three began to dig up a body, but they discovered strange things about the grave.
- There was significant scavenging from the body, but no sign of disturbance from the surface. When Dr. Hyde examined the corpse, he found that the grave had been tunneled into from below.
- After animating one of the dead woman's hands, Dr. Hyde lead the other two into the tunnel that had been used to break into the grave and remove parts of the body.
- The three discovered a network of tunnels through the graveyard, accessing a number of different graves, and connecting further down to the subterranean passages that were home to the creatures.
- Things became tense as the creatures recognized the intrusion into their tunnels and confronted the trio.
- Dr. Hyde was accused of 'stealing food' and 'ruining' it with his magic. He bargained with the creatures to make reparations for his actions, and asked to speak to their leader.
- The doctor's offer was accepted, and he was pulled into a lower level of the tunnels when the ground under him collapsed.
- Leo and Danny were escorted out of the underground passages while Dr. Hyde was taken to meet with the leaders of the creatures.
