- It was determined the next course of action would be to attempt a visit to the "warded house" that the tunnel-dwellers had spoken of to Clinton.
- After arriving at the mansion belonging to the Order of the Silver Twilight, the coterie split up into two groups: Clinton took the front door, while Dr. Hyde and Leo went around back.
- Clinton knocked on the door, and was answered by a butler who was not interested in any of his excuses or lies.
- Stonewalled by the butler, Clinton attacked the man, dragging him outside and stuffing a stick of dynamite into his mouth.
- Before he was captured, the butler was able to trigger an alarm, putting the house on high alert.
- The butler also managed to pull the door closed behind him, sealing Clinton out of the mansion.
- Meanwhile, Leo planned to break into the house through the same supply-closet window he broke into last time he visited.
- The window glass proved surprisingly resilient, but eventually Leo battered his way in and past the wards. Dr. Hyde, following him in, was badly burned by magical defenses.
- Once inside the supply closet, Dr. Hyde realized he and Leo were being observed.
- Leo began attempting to break down the supply closet door, but found it even more resistant to attack than the glass of the window.
- Dr. Hyde found a peephole allowing someone to spy on the supply closet, and found someone on the other side.
- Fire began to ignite in the closet, first on Leo's face, then on stockpiles of flammable cleaning chemicals.
- First Leo, then Dr. Hyde, flew into the Red Fear and fled the building through the window.
- Once the Red Fear released them, Leo decided to return to the house, motivated by the sirens, fire trucks and police arrowing in on the mansion.
