  • Another vampire in the city, Edwin Blackmore, has a vision during the Daysleep; he sees a pale, fanged monster with rotten eyes rising from the river, grasping for a blurry figure on a wharf before it. ⚠ </br>
  • Edwin wakes and attempts to track down the location of his vision, succeeding after several hours. ⚠ </br>
  • On his way to the docks, Edwin stops to hunt and inflicts serious trauma on a passing dockworker, forcing the man to give up booze forever. ⚠ </br>
  • Detective McGillicutty is stabilized with blood from Leo before being stuffed, still unconscious and badly wounded, into the back of Leo's car.⚠ </br>
  • The body of Rex Murphy is wrapped and tied, then pushed into the Mistaktonic River to disappear forever. ⚠ </br>
  • Clinton proposes that the three vampires let the news frenzy about the attacks at the docks die down a bit before continuing their investigation.⚠ </br>
  • Leo and Dr. Hyde agree to a week long hiatus, preparing to head off to their homes. ⚠ </br>
  • Edwin arrives on the scene just as Leo was about to get into his car. ⚠ </br>
  • Though he tries to approach stealthily, Edwin attracts attention to himself and forestalls any departures from the scene. ⚠ </br>
  • Through various means, everyone is quickly assures of their shared vampiric nature, allowing introductions to be made. ⚠ </br>
  • After Edwin told the others about his vision, they paused to look into the river; Clinton he saw something moving. ⚠ </br>
  • Unable to determine the source of the movement from the surface, Leo and Clinton dived into the river. ⚠ </br>
  • They swam to the bottom, where they saw the sack that they had stuffed Rex Murphy into moving suspiciously. ⚠ </br>
  • Leo started cutting open the sack, only to have Murphy's arm emerge and try to grapple with him. ⚠ </br>
  • Acting decisively, Leo grabbed for Murphy, pulled him free of the sack and began trying to kill him. Again. ⚠ </br>
  • Murphy, now bone white and with milky eyes, escaped and swam for the surface, displaying fangs in a silent scream. ⚠ </br>
  • Clinton delivered a knife blow to Murphy's neck, releasing a cloud of black fluid. ⚠ </br>
  • Together, Leo and Clinton chased after Murphy and began to subdue him. ⚠ </br>
  • Edwin, driven by his earlier vision, dove in to help. He ended up doing very little damage, but did land the final blow to knock Murphy out. ⚠ </br>
  • Leo dragged the insensate Murphy up the ladder to the wharf so he could be examined.⚠ </br>
  • Together, the vampires searched Murphy's body and car, studying his effects and his body. ⚠ </br>
  • Using his psychic powers, Edwin discovered Murphy had a daughter and was paranoid about harm coming to her and himself. ⚠ </br>
  • Dr. Hyde began to suspect that the river may be the source of the infection, since he detected no trace in Leo's mouth and Leo had killed Murphy. ⚠ </br>
  • Leo, despite Clinton's impassioned and almost-violent protests, dipped the unconscious Detective in the river, submerging his neck-bite.⚠ </br>
  • There was no reaction to the immersion that Dr. Hyde could detect. ⚠ </br>
  • Frustrated and lacking further direct leads, the group split up to wait for the news frenzy to die down a bit. ⚠ </br>
  • Edwin accompanied Clinton home to discuss recent events. ⚠ </br>
  • Clinton asked Edwin for help in finding the identity and location of Elinor's husband, identified as Herbert Humphries. ⚠ </br>
  • Dr. Hyde returned to his haven with Murphy's body and began studying both Murphy and the first rotten woman in greater detail. ⚠ </br>
  • Leo took the Detective back home with him, to finish binding the man as his ghoul. ⚠ </br>
  • Dr. Hyde and Leo had a telephone discussion regarding what Dr. Hyde had learned about the bodies. ⚠ </br>
  • Leo determined that he would use their downtime to investigate Murphy's home and office. ⚠ </br>
