This is a somewhat early Gorilla uplift, widespread and quite successful. Many Neorilla's find work in planetary militaries, brute labor, or anywhere else their great strength can pay off. The modifiers above include making the gorilla's crude hands into human equivalent ones (buying off Bad Grip 2), improving the voice box to human levels and adjusting the brain (removing Wild Animal and adding +2 to IQ). Side effects were mild Stress Atavism, and, due to the change in posture, a loss of the gorilla's higher-than-human Basic Move.
Our closest relatives, most of the members of the Genus Pongo, Gorilla and Pan have gone on to become exceedingly successful uplifts. Even ignoring humans, Apes are by far the most widespread of all sentient species in the galaxy. Orangutans, Gorillas and Chimpanzee's all have their own individual cultures, several colony worlds where they're the majority sentient, multiple thriving languages and a singular Ur-Language spoken between the various Ape uplifts. Most also speak one of the human tongues, with Daevonic being the most common. Of all the uplifted apes, the most successful and widespread is also our closest relative, the Chimpanzee.

One of the most successful uplift attempts, melding both Chimpanzee and Bonobo genes, the "Pan Sapiens" is the second most widespread sentient species in the galaxy and by far the most common uplift in galactic society. They're most notorious for their sexual proclivities, a relic of their Bonobo DNA, and the reason the species is popularly called "Bonobo's". Despite these tastes, they mostly mate within their species, though a few human-bonobo relationships have occured now and again and a few genetically engineered "half-breeds" even exist.
