A copy of a digital intelligence, such as an AI or a Mind Emulation. "XoXing" is the process of creating such a copy. The origins of the term date back to the 21st century, when its usage was restricted to illegal copies of Mind Emulations. Eventually the term spread to encompass all forms of digital intelligence, though the negative connotations didn't entirely fade until non-destructive uploading became possible. Today the term is largely value neutral. XoX's are considered, and consider themselves, distinct from the original.
Not to be confused with a Node, a copy of an AI that is networked with the original. A Node is always an XoX, but the reverse is not necessarily true.
