Burleigh was the most recent prince of Detroit (at least at the moment) and ended his reign most disgracefully. There was an astoundingly amusing court gathering in which the Primogen attempted to vote "no confidence" in Burleigh and Burleigh in turn, in the middle of the vote, started to use the power of praxis to disband the Primogen council... making himself look like quite the arse.
At the end of his reign, Burleigh was having a little bit of trouble keeping the fact that he was addicted to the Blood Disease under wraps, and also a little bit of trouble keeping the fact that Shamus was dealing the blood under cover. So he killed Shamus right in front of some of us, which was all well and good, but then he couldn't quite gain his own dignity back.
At least, that's my story.
So he had a messy frenzy in Randolph Kugan s house and Randolph Kugan attempted to defend himself with a chainsaw but couldn't figure out how to get it plugged in or something like that, and eventually, Burleigh went running off to Windsor and Mai was left to attempt to clean the exorbitant amounts of blood in Randolph Kugan s kitchen. It seems to be Mai's new job. Cleaning up blood.
Prior to being the prince of Detroit, Burleigh was the Ventrue Primogen in New Orleans. Now that we know what we know of New Orleans, think on that, if you'd like.
He was an acquaintance of Winston Adonis who at the time was the Toreador whip in New Orleans. Shortly before Burleigh's political downfall, Winston contacted Mai, who was now living (at Winston's strong suggestion) in Detroit, and indicated his friend was indeed acting unusual.
After fleeing to Windsor, Burleigh was considered Sabbat and rumor had it he was becoming a key player in Sabbat politics now. He was ambushed in part of a Sabbat raid led by Traci Casoli and was slain.
During his reign as Prince he had control of the Police, Emergency Services, Detroit politics, and many financial institutions. Most of these have been taken over by Samuel Godkin.
