Back to River Of Souls

I'm going to write this one as myself, the player. As a note, we began things a bit differently this time, with Vaxalon(HG) laying out the scenes he had prepared, and letting us choose the direction which the story would move in. There were three of us in attendence: Cages, Revelation and Spring. We elected to visit Locus Ptah first, and traveled there uneventfully. There we met Radiant Jones, Domina of Dawn. Apparently she has a relationship with Cages, but this was not explored further. A discussion over refreshments revealed that Familia Ptah was quite familier with the River of Souls, it being a fixture in ancient Egypt. Dawn revealed that in order to get the River working, the Gate of Dawn and the Gate of Dusk. She also believed, contrary perhaps to Rythms findings, that any effects the River could have on a Chancel would be negated with a sufficiently powerful Realm miracle. Wow, she even told us that the River would probably use Locus Ptah as a conduit from Astrenho to Earth. She was really quite the plot tool. At some point Imhotep, Dominus of Architecture, joined us. Further points raised:

  • Depending on how close a world is to Heaven or Hell, it would have a proportionate number of nice or naughty souls running through it.
  • The River, while a noble cause, would most likely wreak havoc on Earth.
  • There seems to be an issue of whether enough souls could be found.created for all the ones who would depart.
  • There are miracles beyond Imperial, called Cosmic.
  • To unlock the Gates, Cosmic miracles would need to be employed

At this point, I felt it best to move things along. Cages moved neatly into another of Vaxalons set pieces, that of an appearence before the Council of Four. I enjoyed this scene, but to save space I'll just say that the Councils only concern in the matter is that Justice leave Earth as soon as possible. This is rather open, so after requesting help from Master Decay (which he recieved in the form of Meon), Cages decided that it would serve his(Cages) goals best to remove Justice immediatly, thus blocking the River.

While I was about my mission of pissing off Heaven and Hell, Revelation was searching for another solution. He proposed the Creeks of Souls, whereby there would be many tiny streams flowing directly between a world and the two eternal vacation spots. Imhotep warmed to this idea (Dawn, having fulfilled her obligation to the plot, retired), and I am under the impression that Spring supports it as well. Cages came in on the tail end of the conversation, gathering the Familia for a showdown with Justice.
