Nirakara, the Mask

New and Revised Charms

Cyclical Assumption

  Cost: 1 mutation point
  Duration: Permanent
  Type: Special
  Minimum Essence: 2
  Prerequisite Charms: None

This Charm allows a raksha to pass through the gateway Nirakara and exist as a shaped creature within Creation. The rakshas nature takes on some of the flow and natural rhythm of one of creations cycles, drifting from one nature to another in a regular and predictable schema. The raksha must pick a predictable cycle, and an assumption charm for each portion of that cycle which the character will embody. The Raksha is then a slave forever to that cycle, shifting as this charm dictates even in the very depths of the Wyld itself.

One Raksha using this charm might change with the rising and setting of the sun, gaining the essence of Fire during the day and the essence of the Underworld during the night. A very different Raksha might instead garb himself in the turning of the seasons, taking on an appropriate elemental aspect during each of Creation's five seasons. Any shifting cycle that the Storyteller allows is appropriate; the only important guideline being that each portion of the cycle should be roughly equal in time. A Raksha has no control over when he shifts from one cyclical assumption to another even in the Wyld, but may stack this charm with other assumption charms if he wishes to have both shifting and stable portions of his shape.

Nirguna, the Heart

New and Revised Charms

Bestride Two Worlds

  Cost: None
  Duration: Permanent
  Type: Special
  Minimum Heart: 3
  Minimum Essence: 2
  Prerequisite Charms: None

The raksha are no longer entirely creatures of the Wyld, with even the purest of them having taken on elements of shape and form. Nor are they creatures of the Primordials' world, as even the most human of them are alien and touched of the lands beyond Creation. A raksha who learns this charm comes to understand this balance better, forsaking some of his essential Wyld nature in favor of becoming a more pure creature of the lands between. The raksha can have a (Mutation + Essence) total of (2xWillpower + 4), and halves his effective mutation points (round down) when calculating the cost to raise his essence.

This charm is not without its drawbacks, however. A raksha who learns this charm forever joins his nature to Creation and its bordermarches, as he will never be able to survive in the Pure Chaos. The rakshas' fate is now tied to that of creation. The raksha is unable to learn any charms of the All-Consuming God-Monster Style, and looses access to any charms he already knew. Lastly, the Unshaped deeply detest raksha who learn this charm.
